Sounds like she was complimenting you. Say thanks and wear the bandanna less.

The whole idea of using people is so jumbled. After all, we use our friends and family in one way or another. The question then becomes if this use is a negative in some way.
In your situation, a negative does arise; you are wanting to wear a bandanna, but your mother is opposed. This simply sounds like a difference of opinions which is creating a conflict.
What you need to do is evaluate your motives. It boils down to whether you feel a need to stand up for your desire in this regard, or is it something that you can sacrifice in order to please your mother.
You should not have your mother's motives involved unless you know that it will have a effect on you. (Perhaps you get contentious at being bragged about.) In any case, you should be open to what you are feeling and why. Perhaps she needs information from you as well. Only from that basis of knowledge can you work out something that you both will feel OK with.

I don't think your mom is using you at all. She could very well think you do look prettier without a bandana. You should be glad if she wants other people to see how beautiful you are. My mother thinks that I have natural beauty, and she hates it when I put on lipstick. I'm 25 years old now and she still feels this way. She tells me that it takes away from my beauty. When I don't have it on she compliments me around other people, but I don't see it as her bragging or wanting to use me. Don't get yourself upset over this. Some peolpe would do anything to have a mom that does what she is doing with you.

Your mother is just proud of you, so be happy. A mother uses you when you are scared and constantly checking your credit to make sure that she hasn't stolen your identity again or she stays at home making you pay all of the bills for everything while you are working on your degree. A mother uses you when the only time she calls is to ask for financial help. These are real problems people experience and you sound inane griping because your mom is proud of your hair.

No she is being a normal mom. And whats wrong if she does want to brag about your hair? My mom still does that and I'm 28 years old. Its normal at your age to think your mom for some reason is out to ruin your life. I promise she is not. I think I am going to go call my mom......thanks. :)

So what if your mom likes your hair...why shouldn't she brag..you probably got your hair from her anyway. Be happy she is proud of you even if it is just your hair.
