Leave a blister alone if it is small and closed.
Protect it from further rubbing by applying a loose bandage.
Avoid the activity that caused the blister.
Protect the blister with a doughnut-shaped moleskin pad if you are putting pressure on the blistered area. Leave the area over the blister open.
Drain a blister that is larger than 1 in.(2.5 cm) across. The following is a safe method:
Clean a needle with rubbing alcohol or soap and water.
Gently puncture the edge of the blister.
Press the fluid in the blister toward the hole to drain it.
Once you have opened a blister or if it has torn open, wash the area with soap and water.
Do not remove the flap of skin that covers the blister unless it is very dirty or torn, or pus forms under the blister. Gently smooth the flap flat over the tender skin underneath.
Apply an antibiotic ointment, such as bacitracin or polysporin, and a sterile bandage, such as a Band-Aid. Do not use rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, iodine, or mercurochrome on the blister. They can harm the tissue and slow healing.
Change the bandage once a day, or whenever it gets wet, to reduce the chance of infection.
Remove the bandage at night or any time you know the area will not be irritated.

It depends whether or not the blister has been broken. If the blister is intact then keep it that way. If the blister is not intact then you want to prevent infection. You can do this with any over the counter antibiotic cream. A band aid alone will not help. The reason for this is that it still allows the outer layer of the skin to rub against the inner layer of the skin which is what caused the blister in the first place. You want to get a product called mole's skin (not really from moles) This is a cushioned tape that adheres to the skin and does not allow continued abrasion to occur. If you can not find mole's skin then try duct tape. It is commonly used by hikers since it is easy to carry and quite effective. I have used it myself and I find it works incredibly well and it is inexpensive.

First..... never wear the shoes that caused the blisters in the first place ever again! Ouch !!!!
If the blister hasn't popped, leave it alone. Your body will re- absorb the fluid in a few days. The fluid inside the blister is basically "sterile" as it has not come into contact with outside bacteria.
If the blister has popped, wash gently with warm soapy water and protect it with a bandaid. You may want to put some antibacterial ointment on it, too. Keep the wound as clean and DRY as possible (and protected) until it has healed.
The blister was caused by your shoe not fitting correctly and excessively rubbing the skin on your foot in one (or more) spots. So don't wear those particular shoes again.
Hope your foot (feet) feel better soon!

first you drain the blister. one the blister is drained you make sure you leave the skin on do not peal it. apply neo sporin and cover with a bandage.
to prevent future blisters switch from 100% cotton socks to some kind of a wool blend and use a good foot powder. you apply the powder to the inside of the sock and shake out the excess.

you can get these great plasters called "blister plasters" they are transparent and have a gel in them that helps healing and keeps pressure off the blister.
