Don't take any relaxants when you drive, it would be the same as drinking and driving, it would affect your reaction time.

I am almost finished learning how to drive (just waiting for me test). When i had my first lesson I was so uptight and concentrating so hard. But the most experience you have with driving the more relax you get. Just keep driving and in time you will be more and more relaxed.

Don't give up, try to breathe deeply, and keep on driving...in a few more months you won't even think about it anymore

It just takes time. I was so nervous when i first learned to drive, but a couple months later it now feels really natural and easy. Don't drink or do drugs, unless you want the cops to take away your licence. And don't take any relaxants. It will just make you not pay attention to the road.
Time is all you need. I felt the same way when i started, but now driving is a breeze. hang in there!

If you just started driving, you will relax in time once the things you need to do become ingrained in you. Don't take OTC sedatives while driving that will dull your reaction time. Listen to music or think about other things while driving and it will make life easier.

Do not take anything to relax you. It can effect your judgement. I have been driving for over 30 years and at times I cannot relax. I just deal with it.

Music is always nice, also considering your new to driving its just the anxiety of it. After time it should go away. Example try driving in Japan... wrong side of the road, oh lord was that frustrating to get use to, people especially old people and kids don't use crosswalks they just raise their arm (what they do in Japan) and start walking.... yeah that's all I can say about that crap.

Basically, you need to just do it and get some xperience under your belt... Find an easy route to take and drive it for practice. Don't go on the highway just yet... Go around the neighborhood where you will encounter other cars a little bit..

Don't take drugs, you could fall asleep behind the wheel! Instead, find your fave music to chill to, I like Sarah McLaughlan for example, it has to be something that you can relax to or just have fun with, try that and see if it helps, but don't have it up too loud that it is too distracting.

***Dont take any meds.!*** This sounds like something mental......like you need to deal with it yourself...(i wasnt calling you mental). When im driving i put on music or try to relax me arms..or whole body. You might want to ask yourself.."what is making me so tense?" then take it from there; try to find a solution.
