compatibility, similar goals, beliefs. its nice to have someone that compliments your personality, perhaps bring out your personality if you are shy, etc. i think liking the person underneath the skin is the most important part in finding someone.

Your career can be a threat to certain guys -- if it is a higher position (or pays more) than his does.
Looks are only a first impression. Getting to know a person; their personality, sense of humor, temperment, etc. is more important.
Back to nature--people just seem to like each other because of something in the air--or in the hormones.

You should just find someone with whom you share a lot of common interests. The more things you have in common the more you do together, the more time you spend with one another, the closer you are.
Someone that brings out the best in you. You'll know it when it happens. When you can't stop smiling.
In the very least, it's a good formula to date by.

I always looked at a relationship as if looking for a job. Can he take care of me when I am sick, will he be able to support me if I am not working or got laid off. And the same vice versa. Will I be able to communicate with him with out hurting his feelings. So really it what can he do for me and will I be able to do the same. Looks aren't everything. Why have a good looking partner - so that someone else can droole all over them.

Personality matters in the long run and also, looks matter to a certain extent because what do you think when you see some one acroos the room? "I bet they have a nice personality" or "She/he is HOT". You hvae to be attracted to someone in a physical sense but personality can make you more attracted to someone.

What matter most is whether two people can hang out, be friends, do things together, chit-chat, ect..... Basically how well you get along outside the sex stuff. The sex stuff is usally great if all the other, previously mentioned stuff, is also.

looks arent that important.
