Ask your doctor. If you are that nervous he/she will do an amnio. When I was first pregnant the test came up negative and the Dr (Dr. Idiot) said I was a bit swollen in there. He put me on meds for a yeast infection, meds to induce my period and the pill all at the same time. After 2 days of the medication I knew something was up, I just KNEW i was pregnant even though the test was negative. So after the pregnancy was confirmed I told my new doctor that Dr Idiot had me on all these meds and they recommended an amnio if I wanted. Everything was fine, but I needed that peace of mind instead of spending the rest of my term worrying about whether something will be wrong with my child.
