Hi, I'm a JW, and I was wondering...you know how we can't accept blood? Well I was wondering, can we accept hearts or livers and stuff? I asked my mom and she said it's your choice. But I wanted to hear what other people have to say. Remember: JW's only! And don't worry, this isn't happening to me, I'm just curious. PS: I heard the Drama this year was GREAT! I'm going at the end of July, what's the drama about???

EX JW here
Nope if you have a bad heart liver or Kidney, you are basically done for. No blood, blood products, some ones elses organ would have some of their blood, unless they changed the rules again.
My sister was only born with one Kidney and if she ever needs one of mine because we no long belong to that church she will live.

Hey about the transplant I think you should ask the elders at your congregation and the Drama Was great I don't know if the same people do the acting at your Drama but there were these two little kids that were so cute and one had a spear that was taller then him but yeah i really liked the part where they were false worshiping and a bunch of fog came out and it looked like a hand

Well you should know different parts of the body doesn't need the blood transfussion. You can ask doctors if the certain parts can be used. It is your choice, but if you really are a Witness as you say you are you can take this concern to the brothers at the local kingdom hall.this was covered back in the Spring during our theocratic ministry school class.Did you attend that?

imnot a jw, but my mom was for 34 years before she oassed away froma heartattack,if they take a heart or whatever body part, they need blood for the operation,so from what i understood of her learning from them its no, but the hospitals in alot of the usa have a substitute for blood they can use, i cant remember the name of the stuff, but drs. dont like to mention it, the cost is unreal, but it does work, our family new a few jw.s that have been to the states for transplants that have had this stuff and it does work, inform about it, im very serious.i just wish i could remember the name of the chemical, its clear like intervinace, anyway, each to there own belief, i was raised my jw.s till i was 14, then i left home, and ive been with every kind of religion to find what i want to belive in, and its hard, theres so many different things to believe, all i know is that i believe in god,and his son christ jesus, and the bible, god knows where my heart is, and thats all thats important to me,and my family

Yes, because my family and I are JW's and my Dad is diabetic and he is waiting for a kidney. Also remeber there is other ways that doctors can do surgrey without using blood transfusions or blood. Also you may want to do more reasearch on it or ask a fellow JW in the congergation.

the drama was great. i think it's ok to accept a liver, blood itself is different from the blood in an organ, it's a different cell or type of blood, (not really sure how to explain this) but do your own research and you'll understand it better.

When you get a heart or liver transplant there will be of necessity many blood transfusions along with it. Much more than you could ever donate for yourself.

No authority, just a guess. But every human organ has blood in it. So if you have a transplant there will be at least some of the blood of another in your veins.

You are best to do some research on it yourself or ask one of the elders in your congregation to help you do the research, rather then accepting answers from strangers... you can't know for sure if your are really speaking to people who share your faith or not. Perhaps your mom and you can look it up together.

You can't accept those organs because they can't transplant without using blood. Organ transplants save many lives everyday.Believe me that pleases God.
