Have illegals ever considered that their presence in America lessens the number of legals allowed here?

I know that American immigration laws only allow so many immigrants from each country in yearly. When illegals are given amnesty, the numbers of illegals are deducted from the amount of immigrants allowed in the country, further slowing the process for real immigrants. I just wonder how many illegals, and their supporters are aware of this, and understand that amnesty will further hinder the people trying to come here legally.

The ones truly at fault here are not the illegal immigrants, but in the government of the developing country that their immigrating from. I know that in Mexico the government does very little to help their unemployed and the immigrant families that want better lives are left with no other choice. It is not because they are selfish, it is because they have no other choice. Becoming a legal citizen is something that takes years and starving families don't have years. What would you do if you lived in a developing country with no food on your table, and the government wouldn't help? Get the hell out of course. It is the duty and responsibility of the developing countries and the US governments to work together to create a better system of immigration, so that innocent people who want better lives for themselves and their families, won't have to cross the border illegaly.

The longer answer would have to consider however, that people are so desperate for a better way of life that it is very hard for them to think about others.

Being an American in America it is very easy to think about idealistic behavior, but turn the coin to its other face and look at this fact - America has about 5% of the world's population and consumes 30% of the world's energy - most of it to inefficient practices. That's pretty inconsiderate too, considering we're using resources we will run out of as a race.

actually..if you dived into this further, you will find that it doesnt affect the number of illegals or legals coming here...the number of legal immigrants is set disregarding the number of illegals because ..supposedly..we have laws to deal with and deport illegals...its just a known fact that the law isnt enforced anymore...you can thank your vote pandering officials for that....

Thats an excelent question you pop, because Im one of those who are affected by the illegal immigrants, I have been waiting patiently for my green card for over 6 years now, I have never been to the states, thats tough, bcz my mom lives there and I have great american friends that i met here in my home town (monterrey mx) and in quebec, they dont think of us, that respect the great nation... They aren't considering the tax dollars they will use up, the hospitals, emergency services, and schools they will strain, the urban sprawl and drain of natural resources that any uncontrolled population growth will cause. So no, I really doubt they care about legal immigrants at all.

They don't really care, Mexico's over-bred its' job base so bad it's not even funny, and I guess Mexico expects us(US) to just pick up their slack for all perpetuity...unquestioningly at that. Basically, Mexico's a no-accountability hole about a month's pay from being a full-blown 3rd world country, they're right on our doorstep, and they show no signs of willingness to reform. Hopefully with their new president in charge, we'll see a positive shift in US/Mexico border policy, but it's doubtful.

They don't care about that. They feel that they are above the law and can come here illegally and break whatever laws they want as long as they can remain here. Then they always pull out the racist and hate cards when WE want OUR laws enforced. This clearly demonstrates their lack of respect for OUR laws, OUR people and OUR country.
