We can't see god, so there is no god.
God is a concept. People spent their entire life chasing the invisible dream with faith. Faith is trusting and believing something even if it don't exist. If believing in god make you feel happy then go ahead. If not, don't waste your time. There more important things on earth to focus on.

Um...I believe there is a God. I understand your confusion though because Science and spirituality don't mix very well sometimes. You must remember that when most religions were created that this was BEFORE modern science. Most religions explain how people thought the world came about and most relgions have a leader. Christianity for example, it is the trinity. Son, Father, Holy Spirit. As for cruelty on animals...not so sure bout that but according to the Biblbe perspective every sin is equal. You can be forgiven for sins and it really is up to God as to what goes down. For animals....there is no heaven or hell my friend. Animals just die and re-enter into a circle of life. Ever watch the Lion KIng? Disregard All Dogs Go to Heaven unless you just love animals. I don't mean to offend if that is the case.

"I think, therefore I exist"
" I think of GOD therefore he exists"
You have a question, you have doubts, you can think, you can imagine. You have your own free will because GOD made you that way. You can choose not to believe just as you can choose between right and wrong, left or right, up or down. In the Old Testament, the people were building a tower that would go all the way to the sky so that in case the world inundated again in water they would not die. today, we are building a space shuttle, international space station, we have tech gadgets, we have elcetricity, we have things that never in the history of our time we ever had. Does that mean that it makes GOD not exist. No it does not. Read the Apocalypse, actually, just read the ending. Don't read all of it because it is very confusing but the ending is very simple. It says something about a 1000 years of peace and prosperity and then the devil will be loose for a brief time and then the end of the world will come. Well, those 1000 years I do not know what it means but I know for sure the devil is loose (antichrist -everyhting that goes agains christ - Gays, sins, pornography, cloning, rapes, murders, drugs, child molestation..etc.) things that never in the history of the world happened at such a level. I don't look at the end of the world because of the technological adavances that we have but the amount of sins we are commiting. GOD did not destroy Sodoma and Gomorra because they were powerful but because of the number of sins they were commiting. Abraham told GOD, would you destroy them even if there are 100 good people there and GOD said NO. what if 90, 80 or 50 or 30.. at then end there were only 4 goog people and 1 had to turn her head and look back to see if it was real what GOD told them. So Does GOd exists? YES. Can we see him today? Not really. Why not? Like Nietsche would say, "GOD is dead". Why is hea dead? well, because we buried him. We are not following his teachings, we have thrown the 10 commandments out the window. We do not respect him, our parents our neightbors etc.. GOD exists, he is out there watching and one day there will not be enough good people on this earth to keep it alive and he will come one day and "HELL" will not be too far for most of us.

First, get over the thought the science and technology are infallible. Several times in every century, science changes its mind about the basics. Why would you not believe that the scientific "truth" of today will be the scientific "falsehood" of tomorrow when it has always been so? We are wonderful observers, and our the use of our observations has improved our lives. Just don't get caught up in the belief that there is somehow more to it than that.
As for how things were made, religion offers no textbook called, "How to make a Universe for Dummies". When science makes its own Universe, that book will become available at Amazon. A little advice......don't hold you breath.
As for animals, the Bible makes little comment. However, I would not care to be an abuser of animals because the Bible does say, "His eye is on the Sparrow". That's enough for me to treat them well. And abusing any of God's gifts to us seems unwise.

Short of dying or GOD him/herself coming down physically, you will never know for sure.
I personally say that, as a human, I and all the other humans around me are too falible to truely know GOD and so I am an agnostic. (I believe that there may be a GOD but that there is no truely accurate religion).
As far as reward/punishment, I believe in kharma (more or less), which, in my opinion, is a stronger moral restriction than most Judeo-Christian beliefs. Aparently (as in how most Christians act, not necessarily what Jesus taught) they believe that threatening others with "HELL" and discriminating against people is the right thing. Kharma doesn't allow for that, what you do to others will be revisited fully upon you.

1st - Scientist can only tinker with what has already been created, they cannot created anything from nothing.
2nd - One day all will be judged by Jesus (the Bilbe clearly states that the Father judges no one all authority is given to the Son)
3rd - Humans were the only creations on earth according to the Bible that were given a soul. Animals were spoken into existance, sin is not relevant to a purely instintual creature, they are not judged (Humans are not animals (we have some similarities, but we are created in the image of God and had the breath of life breathed into us.

God Created the entire universe & all that is in it.
If a person is unrepentant for their actions during this life, they will go to Hell.
Due to the fact that animals are unaware of God, they are exempt from going to Hell(at least, that is what **I**believe, anyway).

God Inhabits Eternity
In the height of heaven (Job 22:12 below), in the third heaven (2 Cor.12:2 below) God (Isa.44:6, Isa.45:5 below) inhabits eternity (Isa.57:15 below) and dwells in Zion (Joel 3:21, Ps.23:6 below), the city of the living God (Heb.12:22 below).
Job 22:12 [Is] not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
2 Cor.12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
Isa.44:6Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I [am] the first, and I [am] the last; and beside me [there is] no God (Isa.45:5 below).
Isa.45:5I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me (Isa.44:6 above); I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
Isa. 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Joel 3:21 For I will cleanse their blood [that] I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.
Ps.23:6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me (David) all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Heb.12:22But ye are come unto mount Sion (Re.14:1), and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels.

Thanks For Your Question :)
Well tell You what it was perfectly clear that all Holy Books don't go in to Science but there is only one book that was written from more than 1400 and it talks about modern science and things that were recently discovered by western scientists check it out
