You'd be shocked at the number of people who put their best efforts into both biological and theological studies. Many, many Christians continue to take classes on Bible study and theology--classes that have only bearing on their spiritual lives.
Some people go to night school for career, others for spirituality. And some do both.
The more I study evolution (meaning all live having a single common ancestor), the more convinced I become that it is a farce and that one day the scientific community will look back and regard the theory of evolution with as much respect as the medical community regards "bleeding" as a cure for the common cold.
The more I study theology and the Bible, the more convinced I become that the God of the Bible is the Creator of the universe and that through Christ, His Blessed Son, we can all have salvation.
So here's a challenge for you: Pick a Christian church with a large group--one that would allow you to slip in and out anonymously. Go to ten services and listen to the message. Take notes and follow any study materials that they provide. And then come back and tell us if you think that these sermons--which are for everyone--are not thought-provoking and why.

I think it is because they are scared and they need to be told what to believe to live a happy life. So whenever the christian leaders believe something or decide something is not in accordance with their beliefs, they get all the followers to think the same.
If they truly thought for themselves, they would end up understanding the scientific facts behind theories such as evolution and even though they may question its validity, they wouldn't completely dismiss and replace it with some think tank fabricated tales.

"My attempts to demonstrate evolution by an experiment carried on for more than 40 years have completely failed.....It is not even possible to make a caricature of an evolution out of paleobiological facts...The idea of an evolution rests on pure belief."
(Dr. Nils Heribert-Nilsson, noted Swedish botanist and geneticist, of Lund University)
"Scientists who go about teaching that evolution is a fact of life are great con-men, and the story they are telling may be the greatest hoax ever! In explaining evolution we do not have one iota of fact."
(Dr. Newton Tahmisian, Atomic Energy Commission.)

good question. i'm Christian and with somewhat of success i am going to furnish you with some perception. For some human beings, they have been tought that considering they were little and do exactly not question it (i am going to assert an similar for agnostic human beings, Atheists, and so on.) i imagine it is awesome once you question your beliefs! because i believe that when a Christian questions issues, God is gigantic adequate to tutor himself and disprove any unbelief. i imagine some human beings experience to blame even as they start up to question their concept, so that they don't. without delay "good day, it truly is what i became taught, it truly is the way it truly is." It says contained in the Bible some thing about the fellow who believes with out seeing is better blessed than the fellow who calls for a demonstration (sorry, i don't understand the precise passage). at the moment, with technological information and all we are all like "tutor IT" or we do not believe it. yet God's wondering isn't an similar as ours. with somewhat of success that helped some! :D

I cannot speak for all Christians, but I can speak for Christian scientists/Christian who have a scientific background. We have studied diligently BOTH propositions; and in our estimation, there is more evidence for creation than for evolution.
It might be interesting to note that there exists NOT A SINGLE FACT on which macro-evolution is based.

Because people do not like to be proved wrong. It challenges their perception that they are superior to everything and everyone else, so they only believe what suits them. Also they would not like to believe that for their whole lives they believed a lie so all that time was a waste.
