is it extremely uncommon for people to wait until they are married to have sex...because that is what i am doing, hopefully i can find a woman that respects that

It's somewhat uncommon...but not in a bad way. There are plenty of people who feel the same way, and plenty more people who feel that it's a good idea, even if they don't wait themselves. The right woman will not only respect that, but will love you even more because of it.
On the other hand, try not to judge someone you care about if they haven't been able to wait (...and if you someday change your mind, don't judge yourself too harshly either).

it is extremely uncommon for people to wait until they are married to have sex only because there might be a problem between the two parteners. and a marriage without erotic satisfaction.. well.. isn't going to last. of course sex isn't the most important thing but it is important. the two persons must match in everything.. even in bed ;) you should do whatever you think it's right to do.

i think is is extremely uncommon, but highly commendable. You should be proud of yourself you are doing what God says we should do, plus your future wife will greatly respect you and not be all jealous or insecure because of your past. And there are millions of woman who are looking for a guy like you, so way to go!

...Many people believe it is best to wait until you are married before engaging in sex but it is not always possible for everyone. Passions are a powerful thing. There are plenty of women out there who will understand and respect you position. But don't get nuts if you find out she masturbates. Passions are a powerful thing!

Uncommon to a degree but there are many women who respect that. My husband said that he wished he had saved himself for me. Do not compromise your own values to live up to what you feel is society's expectations. When you find your true love, she will respect your values.

Sorry, this is not an un-common practice. I know one religious organization in particular where it is common for people to stay celibate up and until marriage. They are the Jehovah's Witnesses.
