Isn't it all your mind and body and heart and soul? I think it's just an emphatic, saying to love with all of you.
God also says to love everybody else. Many Christians are very good at the first part and not so successful with the second.

My heart is the gateway to my soul.
My soul is our soul, as we are one entity, one being.
So to love him with all your heart and soul would be for me to love from all of my physical and spiritual bodies. We are a 3 part being with Body, Mind , and Soul (Physical / Mental / Spiritual) however the Earth we live on is a world of duality.
Certainly we appear different in our physicalness however our infinitely vast Spiritual body is where we are all one, one soul.
.I believe from your question that God is saying when you love me with all your heart and love me deep from your soul, that you will have some proof that there is a path, one very individual path for each individual, and that your personal path to God becomes clearer.

The words in the original script was not likely "heart" & "soul".
But anyway,
'soul' is your entire collective being, which is why >if you are not a whole and harmonious person in yourself, your soul is in jepardy;
'heart' is the (non-sexual) love and pasion that makes you alive and kicking.
With initiations in the orthodox and esoteric priesthoods, My insight to agape' (godly) love is to make it second nature in yourself for people, animals, and world alike.
And love yourself!

It's metaphoric. "heart" meaning earthly and "soul" meaning eternal.
