There is a vitamin at Wal-Mart (I THINK it's called Biotin - not sure of this, I don't have my bottle with me?) Anyway.. on the bottle it says "For hair and nail growth" and it REALLY works! New hair starts to grow in. I've used it for a while because I have very thin hair and now my hair is almost thick. My hairdresser told me about it - and it's very cheap.

Check with your doctor. Unusual hairloss can be a symptom of something that can be treated. For instance - hair: coarse and dry, breaking, brittle, falling out - is a symptom of low thyroid activity.

nioxin shampoos and conditioners are great (and created for the purpose of regrowing, and thickening hair). also, eat healthy. leafy greens will help, as well as drinking a little wheat-grass from time to time.
