LIndenhurst Town Dock at the end of Pinelawn Road. South Bayview Avenue Dock in Amityville on South Bayview right off of Merrick Road/Montauk Highway, east of the Amityville High School. and Wantagh Park are usually good blue claw areas.
I go for blue claws once in a while. You could check out my hobby site at www.jonesbeachfishing.com. Usually I fish for striped bass and fluke, but I'll drop traps once in a while to go for blue claws.

Any public pier on inland waters in South Carolina using chicken necks on a string and a net. You hang five to ten necks down to the bottom at different spots on the dock, set back with a soda or beer and wait for a while, about the time it takes to drink a half. Then you go from one to the other and pull them up slow, if there is a crab hanging on the neck, you slowly take the net and scoop the crab in it. Don't try to pull the crab hanging on the neck out the water, it will let go!
Put your catch in a cooler with water in it and go to the next line. A good way to spend the afternoon and when your done, you should have enough for a good meal!
The Chesapeake is also good for this!

Any place you can get to salt water. If you can get permission to go on a private dock or boat house you will catch bigger crabs and more of them.
I like to use fresh fish heads tied up in old panty-hose. Once the crab grabs the fine mesh in the hose he can not get loose.
