A short time later, Lee complained of a headache, and Ting Pei gave him an analgesic. At around 7:30 P.M., he lay down for a nap. After Lee didn't turn up for the dinner, Chow came to the apartment but could not wake Lee up. A doctor was summoned, who spent ten minutes attempting to revive him before sending him by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. However, Lee was dead by the time he reached the hospital. There was no visible external injury; however, his brain had swollen considerably, from 1,400 to 1,575 grams (13%). Lee was thirty-two years old. On October 15, 2005, Chow stated in an interview that Lee was allergic to Equagesic. When the doctors announced Bruce Lee's death officially, it was pronounced Death by Misadventure.
However, the exact details of Lee's death are controversial. Bruce Lee's iconic status and unusual death at a young age led many people to develop many theories about Lee's death, such as a murder involving Triads, gangsters, ninjas, and so on — none of these has ever been proven.

The official reason is that Bruce Lee died after having an allergic reaction to medication that he had taken for headaches. The medication caused oedema in the brain.
That is swelling.
I am sure he had sustained quite a lot of damage to his brain/head from martial arts, and making martial art films; which contributed to this, and to his headaches as well.
Even a small hit to the head can cause damage to the brain tissue, and go unnoticed; but over time can result in serious illness.

Bruce Lee had a pounding headache. Bruce took a buddy's prescription drugs, and had an allergic reaction to it that killed him. I heard an awesome quote from the hot action picture 'larger, more beneficial, speedier', and that is, "there is not any such element as a secure precription drug... it quite is a drug it quite is secure for anybody." Bruce Lee changed into hooked on understanding, and Chuck Norris stated in his first autobiography, that Bruce's unwillingness to decelerate and relax ought to have aggravated the unintentional outcomes of the drugs Bruce took which finally led to his death. The lesson the following is to not in any respect take somebody else's prescribed drugs. you gained't get a 2d danger to apply extra acceptable judgement.

The chinese were very racist at that time. Bruce was passing on his knowledge to westerners when the type of kungFu he practised was forbidden to those unless they were of chinese origin (as a pupil he was thrown out of 1 school as his blood was not pure chinese). He was warned on several occations about him teaching westerners but Bruce being Bruce took no notice as he was too good a martial artist for anyone 2 beat him. In the end Assasains were used who Poisoned him using a chinese herb that makes it look like a brain clot.
or he just pushed himself too far physically......you decide...

The official cause of Lee’s death was recorded in the autopsy report as cerebral edema, or brain swelling. This was supposedly due to his hypersensitivity to a painkiller called equigesic that he had taken that day.
But further research suggests the kung fu idol may have died from an epileptic condition first recognized more than 20 years after his death.
