The mother has the most important role. It's her that helps to shape the boy into the man he becomes. For that the mother will always play an important part in a man's life, however I feel it's important for a man to put his wife first once he gets married. Otherwise you have a recipe for disaster.

Mother. A woman should chose a man who respects and is close to his mother. She is the one who nurtures him all through life. The wife will be second, but not in the mothers eyes. The daughter will learn this, too. In a perfect life, of course.

a mother- thats the first woman he knows and sees. moms teach us almost every basic life function.
a wife and daughter are important as well, but they come later in life and are a man's responsibilty.

How about the man himself, for taking responsibility for his own actions and not leaving the direction his life takes up to anyone else.
