I took a shortcut through skidmore when I was suddenly overcome by a horrendous human odor. Shortly thereafter, I had soreness in my nose, throat and jaw. I grew very tired and had a terrible cough.

not likely, You have to be in close contact with an individual with TB to get it and longer than just a couple of minutes. Unless you have a poor immune system. If you are still worried about it or still having symptoms go to you local health department and get tested. It is a simple test. Symptoms of TB are a cough for a long time, coughing up blood, night sweats.

An opportunistic infection of persons with compromised immune systems, including those with AIDS. There is also a high incidence among IV drug abusers. There is also different types of tb--such as meningitis tb which is airborne, so in answer to your question...yes it is possible. Get checked and treated asap.

First: I was also there at the aforementioned unfortunately smelling ghetto. (This was in Portland). I did not acquire the same symptoms. But I was walking on the side furthest away, too.

No, you have to be in an enclosed room with a person with TB
