It depends on who it is and why they did it. In most cases I would be polite but express dissatisfaction. Rudness doesn't accomplish much, but conforntation does.

Because if they are in your home, then they are most likely friends or family? Course, there is nothing wrong with saying something.
"The last time you visited, you did X, X and X, and it took me # hours to clean up after you left. I love hanging out with you, but if you cannot respect my space and things, maybe we should hang out in a third party location, like a restaurant or a park?"
If the person insists they did nothing wrong, don't scream at them or insist on their rudeness. Just say, well you are no longer welcome to visit me at my home. Then just drop it. Don't invite them over. A real friend will respect your wishes. If they are nasty about the whole incident, then I guess that's not really a nice friend, now is it?

You only have the responsibility to practise common courtesy one time... and make that the last time! If someone is messing up your home stop inviting them over!

It's your home so when you see it just ask what the H they think they are doing? Tell them this is your house and if they argue you don't need them there anymore.

Because it's a nice gesture? It makes you a good person to. Karma. Something bad will happen to them but be nice because something good will then happen to you!

make them clean it up, mop the floor with their ball sack, use their tongue to clean the cat box, pick up cans and bottles with their asses, etc.
