this question was asked about a month ago.

Same thing was happening to the "asker" and also to me and my boyfriend.

Boyfriend's DR. told him that He had irritated a nerve in the elbow that controls those areas.

I personally think that (He and I) were talking on the phone so much that this caused it...........mine being the "left hand" which I hold the phone with and His being his right one........(same for talking on phone).

Ours are "both" still slightly numb and it's been about a month.

Dr. suggested that He try to keep the arm straight as much as possible.

I don't really know what the hell is going on -- but I'm adding your question to my "watch list"...........to check out other's answers.......

getting all excited sure as heck isn't accomplishing anything. Who's been feeding you- do you live alone or is Mom doing this? Eat three meals a day- small meals and drink plenty of water. prepare your own food- no restaurant food. NONE. Measure everything- if it says serving size is 1/2 cup that is what you put in the bowl- don't just fill the bowl up! Go for a slow walk before and after you eat. You say you are 5'11" and weigh 270 you gained 150 pounds in 4 years- you were thin then- you can do it again. The hand thing- shake your arms and hands like you want them to fly off your body- probably a pinched nerve. Massage under your armpit and bend your elbow- does it feel any better? When you sleep put a small pillow under the left elbow. You maybe sleeping on the arm and that causes the numbness. Take care- good luck

For me it was a herniated disk in my neck. I had numbness on occaision in my arms too.

See a neurologist. They can do tests that determine the origin of the nerve impulses. Wether it is carpal tunnel syndrome, a pinched nerve or another condition. Also, they can tell you if it is permanent or temporary nerve injury. Don't blow it off, go get looked at.

For me, I had to have surgery. But I'm 90% better now.

Carpal tunnel is a build up of junk in your wrist from repetitive motion. Health magnets should help relieve the pain. http://www.yourwellnesshome.net/images/Weintraub_CTS.pdf

Our cells are charged positive and negative and when influenced by the magnet, it must move. Therefore, circulation is improved. The tingling is due to lack of circulation in the extremities.

Try one of the cheap magnetic bracelets first at the swap meet and if that doesn't work, try one of the more expensive health magnets http://www.yourwellnesshome.net/elastomag.html

Surgery should be a last resort

Nerve damage, neuropathy or Renuid's phenonom. If its all the time, then its probably serious. If its just after you wake up you may just be sleeping on your arm funny. You should go to a doctor to make sure you don't have a serious disease becuase neropathy and Renids' phenonom both can progress to your entire hand (or feet).
