The scriptures of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contains a revelation received by Joseph Smith, a latter-day prophet, called the "Word of Wisdom". The Word of Wisdom prohibits us from drinking "hot drinks", meaning tea and coffee.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints encourages its members to remain free of addictions.
As a result, many members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints make the personal decision not to drink caffeinated drinks of any kind.

Interesting question, I wish the answer was not so complicated. The Word of Wisdom (D&C 89:9) only forbids hot drinks, strong drinks and tobacco and then it goes on stating the positive things people should do. It was further interpreted that hot drinks are coffee and tea. Some believe it is the caffeine in coffee that is the reason coffee is forbidden, so they won't drink soft drinks with caffeine. Other members will drink soft drinks with caffeine. Many members will not touch any tea, some will drink herbal teas only. Some people won't drink any hot liquid . . . including hot chocolate until it has cooled.
Joseph Smith is famous for saying he taught correct principles for people to govern themselves. There is room here for members to govern themselves on how strict they want to live this law, but coffee and black tea is forbidden. Strong drinks (alcohol) are totally forbidden.

Yes. Most people believe the answer to be "no" because of the "Word of Wisdom" which advises against the consumption of substances that are harmful to the body. There are some specific things mentioned in the W.o.W. such as coffee and tobacco, but nowhere is the mention of caffeinated drinks. BTW, although coffee and tea are caffeinated, he bigger issue with those is the other substances such as tannic acid. There is such a think as living the spirit of the law as well as the letter of the law. The spirit of the law being, of course, that we should be doing all we can to take care of our bodies such as avoiding things such as caffeine, over eating, etc.

Although some members of the LDS church try to pridefully justify why it is okay to drink caffeine, the correct response is that it is against the Word of Wisdom to drink caffeinated beverages.
In short Latter-Day Saints are not supposed to drink soda with caffeine.

We can, our church doesn't even preach against caffinated sodas. But as has been said, most choose not to because they know the consequences of the addictions
