Go to your vet and ask for a pill called Cestex, that will take care of the tapeworms. Also, make sure you don't have a flea problem because that is the main way dogs get tapeworms. Tapeworms can harm your puppy if they are not taken care of. They can cause malnutrition and discomfort.

First you have to make sure what type of worm it is. The most common worm is roundworm. Tapeworms are long and have segments. There is different medicine for each worm.
One of the most common worms is roundworms. The best way to treat them is to get medicine from a vet that is given orally (usually a plastic syringe). Two doses are required, 3 weeks apart. It costs $5 for 2 doses. Worms develop in stages. If you see the worms in the feces or in the anal area, these look like rice and are in the early stage of development. If the dog vomits spaghetti-like worms, these are the adult worms that mostly live in the digestive tract. Two doses are required to kill the first set of adults to prevent them from multiplying, and the second dose is to kill anymore adults that reach maturity. I give the de-worming medicine to my cats about every 3 months as a preventive measure. They don't mind...supposedly the medicine tastes like bananas.
Here's a good link where you can read more about it and see pictures. Type in the search words ROUNDWORM and TAPEWORM

You mean medicine I assume? You have to take him to the vet for tapeworm. Prescription tapeworm drugs are extremely effective, very safe, and cause no discomfort whatever. Non prescription tapeworm medications don't work very well and often cause intestinal cramps and diarrhea.

sure, your puppy actual has tapeworms. determine to tell your vet because of the fact if she is being dealt with for roundworms, for occasion, the medicine won't kill tapeworms, too. The white wiggly issues in her poop are tapeworm segments. they are egg sacs. generally, some gets caught interior the canines's butt section hair and dry out into the demanding, rice-like issues you have seen, and fall off the hair later the place the canines sleeps. i don't think of you ought to difficulty approximately getting tapeworms out of your canines. you may ought to consume the segments or swallow fleas or perhaps then i'm not sure if canines tapeworm can infect human beings. maximum worms are species-specific. Sorry yet i don't undergo in concepts if tapeworms are species-specific (infecting one type of animal in user-friendly terms). you will be able to desire to place an old sheet or towel on your mattress for her to sleep on and then wash it on a daily basis. Tapeworms are unfold by ability of fleas. you will be able to ought to deal which contain your backyard and flea bomb your place as properly as getting the fleas off your canines to dodge re-an infection.

Take your puppy to the vet worming is very cheap. The vet squirts this liquid in your pups mouth and then lets nature take it's course and one treatment rids them of the worms.

After you are sure that you are seeing tape, not other worms, you can by a generic version of Droncit at the pet stores or online.
It is called Praziquantel.
I've gotten it for rescues from www.jefferspet.com
Tape cannot be killed by regular wormers and Praziquantel will not kill round, hook, or whip.

EXTREMELY un-likely to be tapes. Pups often have ROUNDS & whip& hook not tapes.
Tapes are are seen as "rice" looking segments. Rounds look like spaghetti.
Droncit for tapes. Strongid for rounds. Get from vet,not the crap at petstores!!!
