Hunting is synonymous with killing. If there was no death and no blood it would not be exciting enough for these dick-less men.

It is annoying to read all the anti-hunting bs that is posted on nearly every good hunting question. It is obvious that the you(anti-hunting people) do not have a clue about the world. I'm sure that if we all look into our family tree that we don't have to look very far to find people that hunted. I'm sure that most of you are not strict vegetarians which makes you hypocrits. Why has society convinced people that its ok to go buy meat at the grocery store but if you kill it yourself its wrong? I know people want to gripe about the trophy hunter.... well if you look at my walls I have a few nice bucks.. their heads that is. What do you think I did with the rest of the body? Thats right I ate it I didn't leave it in the woods or anything else and that week I didn't have to go to the grocery store to buy some beef. So because I killed a deer I saved a cow thats one way of looking at it. My local Wal-Mart doesn't even carry deer, rabbit, or mallard duck (imagine that) three of my favorite choices so I guess I will continue to hunt them. I wonder how much money all of you anti-hunting freaks have put toward wildlife projects and restoration. Me I donate everytime I buy a hunting license or go to my local DU or Quail forever banquet. I would bet that the majority of you live in the city and suberbs. How many nesting sites and wetlands were destroyed to build your huge buildings. How many animals and fish die from your cities pollution. I think most of you don't have a clue how things really work maybe you should think about what positive impact you make on the world around you. Have you ever seen a wild turkey? duck? Canadian goose? The zoo don't count!

several reasons 1 anesthesia darts often kill the animal because of reactions to the drug or they just do not work or have a delayed reaction. 2 its illegal in most states. 3 the drugs are controlled and need a prescription. 4 one reason to hunt is herd control which means you kill a certain number in order to protect the health of the remaining animals. 5 another reason for hunting is for food which also means a dead animal. 6 still another is pest control [ still more dead critters].
now a short lesson in nature for all those Bambi lovers. an animal taken by an ethical hunter receives a more humane death that most animals ever are blessed with. wild critters do not die peacefully in their sleep while their friends and loved ones watch and pray over them. they starve to death, they are eaten [ often while still alive] , they get sick or injured and suffer until death, they are struck by cars and often escape only to die in pain later, they are chased to death by your pet dogs, and this is not a complete list. if you notice anything common between these deaths its that they all are protracted and painful. a properly aimed bullet or arrow kills much faster and in many cases almost instantly. sure mistakes happen and the shot is off but even then in most cases the animal is found within a fairly short time. its not perfect but its still better than being torn apart by a pack of dogs or starving slowly.
second lesson, this time about manners and civility. if you do not choose to hunt i respect your choice but you cannot eat meat, where leather or fur, or take advantage of any medical advance that involves the death of animals and retain the right to call me a killer or any of the other vile names peta types like to use. even then names are not necessary simply because we happen to disagree on what is a ethical question with no easy answers. by slinging mud you only show your own ignorance on the subject

hunting is for enjoyment , it is also for the meat. im sure quite a few hunters (the richer ones) would use a tranqualizer instead of a bullet. the problem is, you have to be within about 40 yards to hit it with a tranq, instead of 300 yards with a 30-06. hunting is also the easiest way that game commitions can control animal populations. i am a hunter and i enjoy it very much, i eat everything that i kill.
ps- its also mans natural instinct to hunt, it is also human instinct to have sex, it would be like having sex, but right before an orgasm, you go to a sperm bank and have artificial insemination.

I hunt to feed my family and here in Florida we have a program that allows hunters to donate any extra meat that the hunter cannot use or doesn't need to help feed the homeless and the downtrodden. It's also one of our RIGHTS as Americans to be able to hunt. Hunting helps the animal population and saves other natural resources. Besides the fact that I didn't climb my way to the top of the food chain to eat a salad!! And ammo is cheaper and more effective not to mention legal.

I suppose we should do the same for the domesticated animals too. You can pretend to eat them, then you can wither away and perish from starvation.
Hope your car collides with a deer on the highway. Maybe then you will appreciate deer-management, but I don't think you're that smart. We should put special condom dispensers in the woods so the deer can use them and prevent over-population. It'll take a special condom, you need to get the dimensions for it.

I personally hate hunting, and I dislike the fact that people are out killing animals for the sheer pleasure of it.
However, if deer were not hunted, they would overpopulate and ruin a lot of our wooded areas.
Some people actually eat the game they kill, and that's at least acceptable.
What I can't condone, is someone randomly murdering animals, not eating them, and leaving them to rot.
Not to mention your method would cost a lot.
People aren't willing to shell out money for a 'humane' solution, when they can just buy cheaper bullets.

You can't eat a deer that is only sleeping.
"What I can't condone, is someone randomly murdering animals, not eating them, and leaving them to rot."
That is a crime in all 50 states, wanton waste laws.

You have to chop it's head off to hang it on the wall anyway. You gotta kill the thing. Plus, if you're gonna eat it, why load it up with drugs first.

Because people feel that they must kill the animals and eat them like barbarians and then if their big enough stuff them and mount them on the wall to make themselves feel macho
