It's funny how the little details come along and prove to be flies in the ointment isn't it!

Seems to be a little bit of confusion and contradiction here amongst you all on this one.

Christians have only themselves to blame for this uncertainly; it started when some dingbat made up his/her mind that there must be actual proof of Jesus' existence and it would eventually be found, probably somewhere in the Middle East.

The trouble is, when you start using archaeology and anthropology and any other real science to prove your beliefs, you're going to encounter real scientists who have better proof which knocks your theory out of the ring. That's how science works.

The best guess it that Jesus was born in the springtime around 4 B.C. Some say 5 B.C. When our present day calendar was made by Gregory, he made a calculation error. Instead of trying to go back through history and correct every document we just back date. That is how Jesus could be born in 4 B.C. (before Christ). The 4 B.C. date seems to match up with secular history during the time of king Herod. There is quiet a bit of history on this if you look for it.
That's the best I can do.

Dude, it doesn't really matter when Jesus was born. That's not the test Christians have to pass anyway...I don't know what most Christians think, but I don't think it matters at all really when he was born. I don't think he was born on Christmas like everyone teaches...History Channel has a great episode on that by the way. SO, Christians, no worries, Your Salvation is not in jepordy just because you don't the exact birth of our man Jesus. It's all good. Just try to live by the book with good intentions in ur heart.

Who said nobody has a clue to when He was born? Granted we do not know the exact day....But we do know the time of the year. It was in the harvest...Which if I remember correctly, is in the fall. So, I'm sorry, but that "fly" was never in the ointment.

sure we have a pretty good idea, I have seen 11 BC to 5 AD, but most hostorians sem to settle on around 4 or 5 BC...does it change who he is or what he says? No. The calander was messed up hundreds of years later, and Jesus had nothing to do with that

of direction not all Christians are gleeful, yet i'm positive some are. although i visit assert that God doesn't seem to need to smash Hell any time quickly. and also you do not seem to have a situation worshiping a God like that. i hit upon that in simple terms as aggravating.

He was born on Christmas day. No one even has a clue to the formula for fossilization, yet they have been teaching a false theory in schools for years! I'm sure that they are still working on it.

oh there are plenty of clues...no reason to worry at all.
actually biblical history is amazingly concise when you consider how ancient the texts are. may you be blessed in your search for truth. Try God in Jesus's name; you will not be let down and you will find the true joy and treasure that is worth your life...but you do need to surrender. It doesn't have to do with blind faith; not at all...amazing things are revealed to those who believe.
Glad you are searching,

and God bless you.

Only if you want to see it that way. I don't know when Gandi was born either but I'm glad he shared his wisdom with us. I feel the same about Jesus.
