They sell a product called AZO over the counter that will help avoid a bladder infection. It is crushed cranberries in a very concentrated pill form. If you've had bladder infections enough, you can kind of tell when one might be coming on. Take the pills and the infection won't occur (I've tried it...it works). Once you have one, however, you need to get antibiotics. Other ways to avoid infection are; do not put off going to the bathroom when you need to, reduce your intake of carbonated beverages, increase your water intake, if you are sexually active, then urinate within 5 minutes of intercourse to clear your urinary tract. Hope this helps!

Cranberry juice twice a day to shoo urine infection away
posted: June 19, 2002
Washington, June 19 (ANI): A latest study, conducted jointly between Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and the University of Michigan, has revealed that regular consumption of cranberry juice cocktail protects against certain antibiotic resistant bacteria that cause urinary tract infections (UTIs), thus decreasing the need of gulping antibiotics.
The scientists said that preventing UTIs could potentially reduce the use of antibiotics, and subsequently reduce further development of antibiotic resistance, according to a report published in The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) indicate
Amy B. Howell, Ph.D., research scientist at Rutgers, and lead investigator of the study said, "We found that when subjects consumed cranberry juice cocktail, their urine was capable of preventing not only susceptible, but antibiotic-resistant bacteria from attaching to the urinary tract."
"Cranberry acts to promote flushing of these problematic bacteria from the bladder into the urine stream, which should result in a lower rate of infection," Howell added.
This study is the first one to look at duration of effect of cranberry in the urinary tract. Howell stated: "this research found that cranberry juice cocktail's beneficial effect may start within two hours and can last for up to 10 hours in the urine, which suggests that consuming a serving in the morning and one in the evening may provide more effective anti-adhesion protection than consuming one serving a day."
In this study, scientists tested the effectiveness of cranberry juice cocktail in disabling a number of Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria, some of which are resistant to certain drugs.
Scientists believe that the proanthocyanidins, or condensed tannins, in cranberries prevent certain E. coli bacteria from sticking to the urinary tract and causing infection. (ANI)

Avoid carbonated beverages. Drink cranberry juice!
The reason for this is the acid/base qualities in the drinks you are consuming/avoiding.
Also, drink lots of water to flush the bacteria from your urinary tract. Check your local pharmacy as well. There are over-the-counter remedies available for quicker relief.

Drink alot of water to keep the kidneys flushed well...Careful perineal cleansing (wipe from front to back everytime you go to the bathroom)...Cranberry juice may also help keep infections away...and, if you get a UTI (urinary tract infection), see your doctor immediately.
I would rather be on the side of prevention than get a UTI...they hurt like hell!

yes cure by being given mediceine. watch out it may get your kidney inflamed if you don't go to the doc quickly. and you can avoid it by drinking lots of water, and going to the toilet as soon as you feel the need, because some people keep it, and have high risk of developing it

Drink water throught out the day. If your a woman, always clean yourself after going to the bathroom from front to back. After sex, go to the bathroom and urinate. Don't hold your urine for long periods of time. When you feel the urge...go.
