Hello fritz.. :)

Yes, it is beyond their comprehension..their eyes are blinded to the truth..until we admit we are sinners and ask Jesus into our hearts, God cannot reveal the truth unto them..I know, I used to be an Atheist..

jim_darwin.. :)

Blessed are those that do not see yet believe..

If you really want proof, then look at someone who has done a complete 360% in their life, one who hated Christians..and is now worshiping the Lord they hated, only but days before.. :)

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ..

Why is it beyond your comprehension that we were created by the Norse god Buri and that the first humans were Ask and Embla who were carved from wood and brought to life?

I ask this to clarify the point that in your own right, you are no different than an atheist except that you've made an exception for one set of beliefs. For all other belief systems, you simply don't accept them, for whatever reason: maybe they seem silly and primitive, maybe they sound like fairy-tales, or maybe they don't seem logically consistent. That's why, as an Atheist, it's funny to me for someone to ask "Why don't you believe in ...." because all you have to do is ask yourself the same question.

Why don't you believe in Vishnu?

why do you insist that even though the bible keeps getting proven wrong that a being of higher power exists. Claims to the bibles inaccuracy have been proved with solid evidence whereas the existance of god is yet to be proved. Sorry to sound "God-bashing" but Thinking about logically. . . Why is there this higher being. This thread could go on forever. Good question

Do you also believe in Santa Clause?

Probably not ...

But since you so easily take on a book of fairy tales, as your guide to life, why the hell wouldn't you??? It's riddled (no pun intended) with mistakes, contradictions, and loads and loads of jerk scenarios.

At this moment, the only place my spirit is needed is right here ... or to be more exact, in the laundry room. Clothes are dry!! Gotta go ... peace out :)

LOL!
I love this argument, it's so very childish and quaint. I especially love the "we can't see wind or electricity.. blah blah" argument because most of us use it when we're 4 but by the time we're 6 realize it's a stupid argument and stop.
The fact is, we can test, measure and observe almost everything in the universe. Even Neutrinos and Tachyons. But your magic sky-pixie, for everything you say about it, can't be measured. Why? Because he doesn't exist.

According to all definitions, god needs nothing from anyone. Therefore your argument is ridiculous.

Everything living dies and everything dead rots. It's a natural process and nothing is exempt. Stop being afraid of what can't be prevented -- only children do that. Grow up already.

It's not. Being able to comprehend that some people believe that is not a problem. Being able to understand why those who believe that are insistent that atheists believe it also (and are often combative in the process) is difficult to comprehend.

Why is your mind so closed to the fact that there is no old guy up in the sky?

2006-07-08 02:29:30 · answer #8 · answered by Atheist 3 · 0 0

Because it seems like everybody is closed minded to only their beliefs. Look on here. I beleive it but I'm open to the christian faith as you are. If somebody gave us documents saying that he didn't exist we'd do the same.
