As the UK population makeup changes, will we start seeing the same political problem experienced by Fiji?

I can't wait until England get's it first Muslim Prime Minister, that should really give the Americans something to chew on. The sooner it happens the better for the worlds sake!

Why would it be bad if there were more non-white than white people in England? The very idea has a mild centre of racism. It has happened throughout history where some lands were occupied by different races and religions. If whites in the uk become a minority, surely it will be becase they have emmigrated to other countries, perhaps warmer climates. It's not like there is a disease killing of white people. A lot of people get this topic mixed up with immigrants. If the uk population becomes a majaority of non-whites it will be becuase of people who are already settled here (although continuous immigration will contribute). If 90% of the population are non-white, then it will reflect all of the society, non-white teachers, non-white police etc so if it has happened this way and these people are making the country function whats wrong that they're non-white? Look at Australia.

Wave, we'll take yours if you take ours. We have a lot more immigrants and illegal immigrants already. You are talking about maybe a hundred thousand or so. We are talking about 12 to 20 million, and that is only the illegal immigrants.

However big our country is, we, like you, need to size our schools and services, and subsidize them for poor people, even when they pay all taxes (which illegals typically don't.) The number we have is a real problem in places they concentrate, with some estimates making them or their children up to about 30% of a school district population in some cities.

That burden drains the funds and ruins the education for the rest of our children.

Since you Brits think we are so unenlightened already, I would think you would want us to get education.

Besides, from the tenor of this question (which I don't really agree with) how would you feel if we had a 'foreign' Congress able to marshal our military assets?

We aren't a trash bin for those you don't want.

I sincerely hope (owiseone) above is joking. As he is a Guardian reader, he probably isn't. We most definately will see those problems, we have already, and we will continue to do so. Sadly, it was all too predictable. The left wing Guardian and observer newspapers have always been part of the problem. Are you suggesting by your references to them, that they have now seen the light? If they have, it is years too late.

Melanie Phillips, who currently writes a column in the Daily Mail amongst other things, has been writing about this for years in a very intelligent and authoritive way. But has been drowned out by the shrieking lefties in the BBC, Guardian, Observer etc.

yeah white brits should have more than 2 kids per family. If anything its better for society as who don't get a dependent aging poplation like we have now. Also if natives had more kids there would be no need to allow so many immigrants to the country. Why can't these immigrants go to The U.S or france where they have an abundance of space for new people?

And since we in the west have run the world for centuries and made a mess of it, let those who suffered most by our bad behaviour in their lands, have their turn to run things for a change. And you'd better pray and hope, that through the suffering we've caused them, they have learned to do a better job of caring for the world.

Lets also pray, that we have not sewn the seeds of greed and privilege so deep, that as they grow wealthier, and better educated, they will not feel the need to get back at us!

so what if the majority wont be white? what does it matter? The "British culture" as one poster put it, is an amalgamation of all the different cultures that settled here in the pre middle ages, its natural for the poulations makeup to evolve over time, why worry about it?

Depends on how you look at it.

The whites in this country will be the minority long before you will! Maybe you can get some pointers from us on how not to handle it!
