In 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 are we running the race that Jesus has set before us. Not that we may like the race we are in cause it maybe hard, but are you still running cause you love the Lord.

If I by faith claim a belief in Jesus then I have no other choice but to run that race. Right? Yes.

At the moment I believed then I set myself apart, I died to the things of this world and the things of self, so that Christ can live through me. So How do I do this? I read what Jesus did, I learn from His example and I model my life by that. I sent time getting to know just what Jesus did by example and I have learn that what I heard from others was way off base. I found that Jesus wasn't about Thou shalt not. He was about giving, to others, serving them Helping them, Loving them no matter what.
Putting others before yourself, having compassion (concerned passion, concerned love) That is the example of Christ, its not hard to do when you can take self out and put others in.

Love the Lord although the difficulty remains that to be fully into the race you must give up the worldly things - even family and friends if it interferes.
Those that follow Christ's teaching and believe in their hearts that he is the LORD enter the race, but to actually run to win you must give up everything including yourself. This is what Paul did. Its difficult, but the eternal rewards will be worth it and more.

I am running this race because that is what we are called to do and when I reach the end I want to hear "come in my good and faithful servant."
Peace of Christ,
Debra

I'm hopelessly behind with no real way to catch up, unless a meteorite comes down and destroys the competition.

Yes, but we can't follow Jesus and judge others at the same time. It don't work that way.

Lotsa times I stop, run backwards, and just leave the course entirely...trying to get back right now as we speak.

Jesus also said pray, fast and give alms. How fast do you pray?
