If you figure this out let me know. I am not a bar hopper and would love to find a great guy to settle down with. Dating is tough.

You should probably try a website that requires users to pay a fee...that way it will weed out many people who are not serious about it. Be sure to post your picture on your profile. Even if you think your looks are less than average, at least anyone that contacts you will already know that in advance. People going online to date often lie about their characteristics (appearance, age, income, etc), so be sure to state in your profile that if you find that someone has misrepresented themselves that you will immediately end all contact with him/her. Hopefully that will further weed out non-serious individuals....but also means that you have to accurately represent yourself. In addition, look local....long distance online relationships are highly unlikely to work. If there are not many singles online in your area, you don't have a very good chance of online dating success. Be sure to give at least a few weeks to get to know someone online before you meet them. If you do meet, be sure to do so in a very public place and don't give them too much information about where you live and work. You may even want to use a fake last name until you really trust someone (and be careful of people trying to get money from you).

unfortunately although an excellent new age way of meeting it is I fear ,and indeed has been an idea destroyed by a few thousand businesses who prey on the loneliness of men and women on line.
