With all the hue and cry about enforcing our border laws, you'd think it was like they were putting someone through a meat grinder when they get sent home from the US for not being legal. I think our law enforcement system's pretty humane, there, they don't just run down the street clubbing down the poor like in some countries...and americans just want the border enforced, and as soon as the situation between america and mexico has settled down, then get a handle on the OTHER countries that send us their illegals...well, not 'send', but just really do a shitty job of preventing their people from going all over hell including into the United States...

I think they need to be deported.. Try doing this in their country or any other and see what happens? Some don't even live to tell about it..... , but they think they can just come on over without a paper one and everyone is suppose to be OK with it. I think some have just looked at America as a pushover. People are just coming over and taking advantage. Something needs to be done about this problem and quick..

Rosario, that's just it the government hasn't done its job concerning the border or illegals coming here, that's why a lot of Americans are getting more involved trying to do their part in helping protect this country..

Politicians are more hungry for corporate dollars to fund their reelection campaign than they are to represent the citizens of this country...

Oh, I don't know. When one country hands out pampflets and maps and gives on the spot border crossing counseling to people about to illegally cross, and has radio announcements over Christmas when over a million voluntarily went back to visit family telling them not to be afraid to come back here, I think it isn't much of a stretch to call it 'sending'.

I have no problem with deportation. It is a lot better than what many countries do with their illegal immigrants, and is only what they should expect.

However, in this case, we let people get awfully comfortable and blatent about being here. Kids have grown to adults NOT running and hiding but going to school and getting benefits in plain sight even lobbying the government for in state tuition and (in my state) health insurance benefits. I do think it makes a difference to how people feel about deporting THESE people.

I think we were a little ambivilent about it because we DID think at least the ones we saw were hard workers and doing their best. It wasn't until the numbers became so huge and the problem became so huge along with it that we really started complaining. Even then our government did nothing about it.

Under those circumstances, it feels bad to deport the good sort. After border security and preparing for employer database enforcement and dismantling of the benefits magnet to illegals, I'd give screened illegals a modified permenant residency - not citizenship or ability to bring in family and quadrupel their numbers.

However, I think we can, should, and will deport in large numbers going forward. Even if we only deport the criminals, Homeland Security estimates that would be 302,000 people NEWLY entering local and state jails just this year. That would keep us busy and make our point.

It has worked before, and would work again. http://news.yahoo.com/s/csm/20060706/cm_csm/ydillin_1

First off illegals are human beings looking for better lives. And they shouldn't be launched aflame with a catapult.... thats something ignorant fascists would do. Yes they are breaking the law, but it is because they have no other choice, and I'm not saying that makes it okay. The ones really at fault here are the countries from which they migrate from. Those governments need to help their people like the US helps us.

And to the answer above me. Would you be so concerned if the people trying to "take over" were white? possibly German? Maybe you wouldn't be so ignorant if you knew what it was like to come from a 3rd world country. I'm against racism of all kinds toward all people. And trying to stop a race from becoming a majority clearly indicates racism and ignorance. As if an entire race of people were all the same, please. Why would it even matter which race is the majority? We are all human beings, and its your kind of misguided ideas that start needless wars.

I love some of the moronic answers that people post without having any background topic on the issue, but happen to have a swayed opinion from 2 minutes of CNN broadcasts. The fact of the matter is, these people came here like your ancestors did, if not in a more dignified way. Your ancestors are mostly whores, prostitutes, rapists, and outright criminals. Why are we trying to send back people who are coming here for a better life and are willing to work, like you or me, but the immigration system screens them out. Did you know that the immigration screening system doesn't even work. Half the time, they choose people with high university degrees that 75% of the american population doesn't possess, but it's worthless here because it is not recognized, and they would have to modify their degree for 4 years to be able to work. I've done 3 years of university here already and have 5 years to go at the least. I sure wouldn't go back to school after I was completed to please some idiot that has a lower degree than I do. And that's where you get taxi drivers, bus drivers, and subway workers.

For the record, I heard someone say something stupid about tax evasion. How can you pay taxes if you're trying to hide from the government that is trying to escort you out? These illegal immigrants are making little money, and they do jobs that are in need because most americans are too proud to do them. It's almost slavery since people employ them at lower than minimum wage and work them long hours. When these people get deported, I hope that you have to start cleaning toilettes at hotels and picking fruits in the hot sun till you die.

Deportation is NOT a bad thing!
It's just bad when things go too far!
My brother is a supervisor for the Border Patrol in the Valley of Texas and there are no incidents or anything like that when the time to deport these people comes.
In the US it's just wrong to want to do it YOUR own way instead of letting the gov't do it's job...

You will hear them say " they are just poor people trying to feed their families", "they do jobs Americans won't do" "the USA would fall apart without illegal immigrants" "Americans are racists" It's all a bunch of hooey to get bleeding heart liberals to allow as many Latino/Hispanics in the USA so they can multiply, become the majority, have the majority vote, vote in Latino leaders and take over the USA, NOT just their fabled AZTLAN!!

They should be deported and our borders closed TIGHT until we get control over ALL immigration. The Hispanic/Latino community have an agenda and they are accomplishing what they had set out to do. Americans need to pay attention. They are taking our land right out from under our noses and most Americans don't even see it.

WAKE UP AMERICA, THIS IS SERIOUS STUFF!!

HalloweenBaby (below) - Any group of people who want to systematically infiltrate MY country ILLEGALLY, the country MY people fought and died to make what it is today, the country so many people are clamoring to enter LEGALLY, I would be up in arms over JUST THE SAME!! Their Nationality, color, race, ethnic origin is not the issue. BECAUSE they are mainly Latino, the Latino/Hispanic community wants to use that as wedge and cry 'racism'. It has NOTHING to with that, it has EVERYTHING to do with the fact they have planned this for years and have whined and cried about "poor people just wanting a better life" that they have actually been able to get the liberals to SUPPORT them!! At the expense of hardworking, TAX PAYING AMERICANS who have paid taxes into the system for many generations!! Illegal immigrants and LEGAL immigrants who support the radical hate groups of MeChA, La Raza, LULAC, MALDEF and others are NOT Patriotic Americans, they are TRAITORS in our midst and need to be STOPPED "ASAP"; ONE way or ANOTHER, their choice, BACKOFF or suffer the dire consequences!!

I think we need to put up a wall, send as many illegals back as we can, then start talking about how they can legally return in numbers that our economy can sustain. It is ridiculous that there is so much discussion and so little action on this subject! Why don't we just make our move and let the Mexican government deal with their own people. If they need our help, we'll give them our help but we cannot support 12 million people who just decided to drop in!

This is a country of the free supposedly and I think there shouldn't be any laws at all when it comes to illigal immigrants. They aren't doing any harm and should have as much opportunity to come here as we were when we screwed the indians out of their land as we ourselves were illegal immigrants. NO illigal should be sent home but helped so they can live the american supposed dream where they came because we aren't a 2nd world county in poverty. So give them a break. (unless of course they come here to distroy the country -like terrorists or something.)

I dont think getting caught at the border and sent back is deportation. Grabbing up the benefit thieving tax evaders, confiscating their vehicles, homes and monies, loading them up in bus and shipping them back across a border that is secure is deportation! Lets see a whole lot more! Over a five year period of deportation, it would cost tax payers less to deport them all than to keep them. I say they can take their ugly cars with them! I'm tired of looking at them! HA HA HA! Is it true their putting 22 inch wheels on wheel burros now?

I think it's a good idea to arrest and deport those that are breaking the law to be here. Others have come here legally and so can they. They have no special rights and are not above the law. Only a criminal thinks they are above the law and can do what they want, which pretty much sums up their mentality.
