Cause 'Black Boxes" can't hold 500+ people and sustain 500+ MPH. Duh!

Because an airplane is made out of light weight materials, mainly aluminum, so it can get off the ground. The heavier the plane the less likely it will fly.

The black boxes, however, are made from very heavy and sturdy materials, and have a heavy steel body constuction.

Airplanes cannot be made excessively heavy because they will not be able to fly or you would need to have huge — therefore more expensive— engines to put them in the air. The same thing happens with cars: The lighter the car, the more efficient engines would be. Same criteria!

Airplane manufacturers don't make black boxes. They are just responsible for inserting them into the airplane.

Also, how do you know how reliable black boxes are?

Think about your question. If the CVR (cockpit voice recorder) was the size of an aircraft and you smash it into the ground at about 200 KIAS. You wouldn't have a black box any more. Now would you?

There's nothing special about the "black box" which is actually orange. The only strengthened part is the actual data recorder itself, and that is rather small.

It's primarily protected by the crushability of the rest of the aircraft's airframe.

Different types of material for different areas of the aircraft. Planes expand and contract according to pressures, temperarures and weather conditions. Making it out of a tensile material will cause the plane to crack apart. aside from that weight would be a huge factor.
