NO it is not the same! YOu can be spiritual and not be a certian religion.

There are many spiritual people outside christianity and to believe otherwise displays a very narrow mind.
christians tend to think of non christians as uncultured barbarians and not capable of spiritual thought

This is accurate. It is extremely dangerous to be spiritual outside Christianity. God grants us the decision to do what is right and in His will. When we step outside of it, His mercy does have limitations and the cloak of protection He has upon us - by our choice - will be removed.

I truly do not think you can be "spiritual" and not believe in some sort of god or the God. If you think you can you are kidding yourself.
