It's not a matter of weather or not u clean well or not, although good hygiene is a must. Everyone has different types of belly buttons and people who have "innies" are more likely to get some type of infection because that is the ideal warm and moist environment for bacteria. Oh and for everyone suggesting the whole cleaning thing, you really shouldn't get to neurotic about cleaning it because it could cause irritation and that could only make things worse...Seeing a doctor is not completely out of the question either...Here are a couple of sites I suggest u at least take a look at... http://www.medhelp.org/forums/dermatology/messages/31033.html

Yes. Absolutely vile. I dont mind the smell of my own farts, in fact even the foul ones are quite satisfying , but I'd rather smell someone else's farts than catch a whiff of my own belly b.

I wash it every day but its still a danger zone by the evening.

Mine is very much an "innie" button. I'm sure that's the main reason. Despite its smell, I wouldn't swap if for one of those foul "outties." That's just made me think of a question I want to ask............

Not that I am aware of but I am not that flexible to find out :)

I found this in case yours does:

Use a gentle antibacterial soap and wash thoroughly. Dry it completely using a terrycloth towel and a cotton swab if necessary.

Also spray it with this stuff called Approach. You can get it online at http://www.approachit.net . It's a natural biological odor eliminator. It'll clear up the odor and also help fight whatever's causing it. Use it after washing and before drying.

Good Luck!

Sometimes you can get an infection in the belly button. The doctor can give you cream for it.
