One wise man once said : A religion is the opium of the masses. Every religion is great until it is organized then it becomes a big business.

Now for the people that said that Islam is a faulse religion and only christian are right. Well, I Know that I don't know that for sure, and I know that you don't know that for sure. The only thing that I know for sure is that you guys already violated one of the Christian principles " Don't judge anyone" read the bible again.

Furthur more: we believe in Jessus ( I am a practicing Cathlic), some of us look at the bible as the word of God. The funny thing is, God (the father) did not write the bible, even Jessus (the son)did not do it (if he wanted, he could have done it in no time). Jessues mom (mary) did not do it either. More interesting, there are many bibles out there (in reality they are Jessus life stories according to his students). And how many people even understand that the bible that we use in the USA is the bible according to King James the Fifth ( he was an actual king of England who decieded to rewrite the bible based on what he thought it ought to be the right way. He is also the king that gave us the FOOT (size of his foot), INCH ( size of his thumb) YARD (size of is arm), MILE, Etc.

Now in regard to the Muslim religion respecting all other religions: well read your Kouran. It says that the Islam is the most complete religion which implies that the others are not complete.

Also as you know, you can not change your religion no matter what, even if you marry a non muslim person. There is a problem with a religion that does not allow you the freedom to use your God given brain and choose the best pass to GOD.

One last thing about Islam religion which I have a problem with: Only in Islam, a human being can kill another human being in the name of God. There is something wrong with that.

Conclusion: Be a good person, regardless what religion you decied to believe in, as long as it leads you to God.

No offense intended-but Islam wants all Christians and Jews dead. That is not much respect. If you are not in a Muslim controlled country. Read some critical commentaries on Islam by ex-Muslims. You will leave Islam if you discover the truth.

I think that Muslims are very dedicated. There are many "faiths" where the people aren't really converted to their own faith. I think a much higher percentage of Muslims are true believers in their faith than the average religion.

Among those, there are some who believe that just because they believe their faith to be correct, that it's also correct to do some pretty bad stuff. I think that most Muslims are not cool with that.

The American Council for Islamic Relations (or something like that) sent out free Korans a while back - I sent for one and got it and it was really nice. Part of the letter said please don't deface, and I'd never deface it. If I get tempted to deface it, I'll send it back instead.

The reason I asked for it in the first place was to get to know this religion that isn't going away.

Personally, I believe that one day, the countries that are "generally" Christian countries will be at war with countries that are "generally" considered non-Christian. I'm 100% committed to my beliefs, and I recognize and respect that at least those that are Muslims are also active in living their religion, unlike most religions out there.

BTW, yes I'm Christian.

I think religion is very personal. There is no right or wrong religion. What a lot of people seem to forget is Christians, Hebrews, and Muslims all worship the same God. The basic beliefs are the same. All are desendants of Abraham. Which, in turn, means we are all extended relatives. There is nothing wrong with Islam. People complicate religion. Worship God however you see fit as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. That is advise everyone should take.

You shouldn't listen to the non-believers (Agnostics)... They don not have the knowledge to answer your question. All they have is ignorance. Hmm... Muslims and I mean Muslims who are true to the cause will respect the other religion. It is said in the Quran. Those Muslims, who bombed themselves up are not true muslims. They are fanatics and extremists. I'm ashamed to see that humans are still no civilised enough to understand and differentiate them! They want to blame the whole! Where is your senses people??? Islam means peace and submission to God. Muslims are very peaceful. The ones that you see in the media are propagandas. Have you ever consider this? This world is so unfair. Even when you live in a democratic country like America.

Firstly just like Christianity, Islam is practiced very differently in different Islamic countries. For example the no touching dogs rule apparently only apply to Muslims in certain countries. That's kinda weird.

But it has to be one of the most discriminating religion against women. So I personally really detest it!

Muslim men can have several wives, but muslim women can only have 1 husband? One typical example of a religion obviously invented by men to control women.

How about all the poor Muslim women having to dress to conservatively like they are lepers or something?

If they were to just wear spaghetti straps and short skirt, the Muslims would think she is immoral? It is ridiculous, a woman should be allowed to wear whatever is comfortable. I'm thinking of the horrid hot weather in the middle east, those poor women must be roasting to death covered in all those clothes.

There is no such thing as the "correct" religion. And some very narrow minded people have posted some very idiotic answers.

"Muslims are leading the Christians astray.."? and that's the "abrasive truth"?

All religions are continuations of each other. This never ending argument about "My God ,is better than your God!" is as ridiculous as it is annoying.

Islam is a religion that is followed by millions of people all the world. Call me an apologist or whatever, but the fact remains that like all other religions, it promotes, peace, harmony, and tolerance between all types of people, regardless of race, co lour, ethnicity, and yes, RELIGION.

Living in a muslim country, I do respect Islam and Muslims. What I can't tolerate is extremism which has become most of it these days.

My dear brother,

I have gone through all 11 answers before me.
Dear, I respect the word "Islam" by definition. "One who follows Islam is a Muslim" This one too I respect.

You said "Islam" respect all religions. It is a must by definition.
1.If possible answer the questions.
Why do you call other than muslims "Kafirs" and approve the attacks/ killings of them whic in real and basic sense "Islam" itself should not have approved?.
2. Do you approve an Indian Mulsim painter insulting other religion with nonsense paintings of their Gods repeatedly?
3. Do you approve calling all other religions "Kafirs" or will you agree they too are believers of GOD in other forms, not "Kafirs" and respect them?.
To think any thing about Islam I want these answers.
Still I respect "Islam " in its' core meaning only, not by its' action that we see around.
