Why are women treated as inferiors in all religions (except for maybe Baha'is)? Why do women accept inferior treatment? Do women choose to become victims, If they choose to stay in a religion that specifically states they are inferior? Why try and change the religion instead of choosing one that treats you with respect and equality in heaven AND on earth?

Christianity doesn't treat women as inferiors - nothing has been more liberating that the Bible, which tells us to treat women, not as property, but as a part of our own bodies, to be loved, protected, and cherished.

Indeed.
Women ARE inferiors according to the christian faith. Here are a few examples of how women are treated;
A woman that seduces a man is evil -- the man is just an innocent victim. Proverbs 7:5-27

Isaiah shows his contempt for women by saying that things have gotten so bad for his people that "women rule over them." 3:12

A divorced woman is "polluted" when she remarries. The man, of course, remains perfectly clean through it all, even though he was the one who "put her away" in the first place.Jeremiah 3:1

I could go on and on and on, suffice to say that the bible doesn't think much of the fairer sex. The word of god goes from god to man to either dog or woman depending on the job that needs to be done at the time. After all, you can't ask a dog to mop the floor can you?

I do not believe that women are treated inferior just different. There is more differences in men and women than just the genitals. We Catholics are taught that the Man is the head of the house and the Woman is the heart of the home. Not lesser just different.

Here's my theory: Religion is a man-made thing, created by males to control females. Since men are not incapacitated by child-rearing, they see this as being 'superior' to women. They also believe that their gods are male- with the same unfortunate attitude towards women, and this gives them 'permission' to dominate and ultimately mistreat women. They write scriptures to back this up, create hierarchies of priests to enforce them, and the cycle of oppression begins, and is perpetuated. It's the ultimate Old Boys Club. No women or effeminate men are permitted.

The irony is that women are far more spiritually oriented and sensitive to the movement of the Divine than men, but men wrote the religious rules, most of which leave women outside the circle. What is seen as divine in men is seen as a threat in women, widening the divide. You have holy men, and you have witchy women. Guess who gets killed. In faiths where women are in command, the structure of the faith is much more empowering for both sexes.

No one 'chooses' to become a victim. Oppression is a cultural thing. The key to ending sexual and religious oppression is educating the women. Educated women raise educated children, who break this cycle. This is one of the major reasons why extremely oppressive faiths refuse to educate women at all, or give them minimum education and bind them to the home.

Religions cannot be changed, only abandoned.

Women are inferior to men's inferiority.

If you would read your Bible, you would understand how God wants both men and women to act. You would understand how God wants the family to act. I am suggesting to you that you stop looking for a religion and look for a personal relationship with God. Find a church that teaches the bible, not religion. You will find your answers if you search for God first. Thank you.
