Is dating tougher for a women of 40 or a man of 40?

it is more tough for a woman of 40 especially if they have children. No one wants to be tied down with kids that are not theirs.

In my opinion, it is more difficult for a woman to date over the age of 40. Some men may feel emasculated if they were to date a successful woman that was over 40. However, this is not always the case. I believe that men can get away with it more because if they are wealthy, than young women (gold diggers) would be attracted to their pockets (not necessarily THEM). I am only 19 but I don't think that 40 is that old. Overall, I believe that it is the person and not the age that makes the difference. Possibly men look better aged than women?

I think its tougher for a man at any age. Women are very picky...and so they should be. Im not really sure but maybe one of the biggest problems is that there are more men than women....at least when I go out that always seems to be how it is. 1 woman for every 10 men.

I don't know about a man but for me it was difficult because I have children and a lot of men would rather not be bothered with someone who has kids. Also by the time you are 40 you definitely have accumulated some baggage. Everyone who actually lives life gets baggage. I hate when people say in a personals ad or something ... "No baggage". There is no such thing.

i think it's tougher for a woman of 40 cuz some women tend to look for a father figure and a man of 40 is a good one. a woman might be more desperate cuz her clock is ticking. but overall, if you've got a good attitude, it shouldn't be too bad.

I would have to say women of 40 only because men are not as reserved about dating younger women, and most people around forty are not in the dating scene.

I'd think it was the same. I'm 40, female, not having trouble at all finding dates. Problem is finding a decent date!! I'm sure you know that problem. I don't want some one younger than me. The ones my age or older act just like when we were in high school-all they want is sex. I would like to get to know the person for awhile first, not just jump into bed. Maybe I'm old fashioned. How is it for you? It would be interesting to me to hear your views. I haven't dated since school and married my first love before I even graduated. It is like starting from scratch for me. Tougher for men..... women are very selective and they also how to pick a man. Men keep trying but fail most of the time.

women def have their pick. but i find it easier for me then women much younger and definitely ones my age or older. women over 40 demi moore or women over 40 who haven't taken care of themselves? sean connery could out do many men over 20 let alone any other age group. but it is too broad a question and too subjective bc everyone is looking for love according to their desires based on too many variables. however, most ppl hate this saying but it is a truism in society for many "women rot, men ripen" I'm nearly 40 and get carded for liquor purchases routinely. most ladies 12 yrs younger than me do not. personal observation.
i have always found women in their mid 30s very attractive and now women in their 40s seem much more attractive then their 20yr old counterparts.
