Buddha encouraged people to not believe anything or anyone, but he offered a path he had experienced. He taught that you have to prove everything for yourself and meditation was the way that he found to look at himself and discover the truth about the world. The ultimate truth is that we are all interdependent with the world around us and thus, being good to every other living being is also being good to ourselves. To know this is only a step, to understand the implications is enlightenment. Deity-based religions focus on punishment, dogma, and a promise of another place with a 'god'. Why just believe when you can know?

The truth is verifiable and can be shown to others. I don't mean to say that religions do not have good points, Jesus said to love others, Mohammed told his followers to protect those of the other tribes (Christians and Jews), But to tell me that their is an omnipotent, omniscient being that relies on faith alone is just an excuse to not have real proof that he/she exists!

We don't rely on belief and cease to seek the truth.
Your question is more of a statement than a question. It's an accusation.
Little piece of advice buddy. If u wanna feel good about your religion and yourself, do it without mentioning us, Christians or Jews.
If your religion was really that good, u wouldn't have felt any need to say any of that.

Another victim of false prophets and teachers. Is it not easier to believe what others say than seek the truth yourself? Ronald Reagan said trust but verify. Unfortunantly many trust only. The truth can be found at www.ucg.org If you have an open mind.

The American Indians have a similar belief. I agree with your general thought about religion. However, in our highly diverse world ( cultural, religion, etc ) there will never be just one religion. That is not actually such a bad thing. When all thinking becomes one, life as we know it will come to a halt. ( no more new ideas )

Hon, by saying that people who believe in God haven't seeked the truth is like saying that God doesn't exist. Which will offend people. Just saying you should know that cuz you might get some rude answers to that one, so be prepared.
Personally, I've done my searching and I know He is very real.

It is foolish for any of us to rely only on belief. If we are wise, we will not be wed to any one belief, or set of beliefs. We need to be open and inquiring, always on a safari to discover truth. We need to be critical thinkers, critical questioners. We must learn to critically evaluate all information and knowledge that come to us. We also must recognize the limitations of our own ability to truly know, and of everyone else's as well. Humility is called for.

Spoken like a true atheist. Why should anyone waste time explaining religion to a nonbeliever like you? If you really want to know, seek and you shall find. If you dont, and I suspect your real motive is an attack on religion in general, then dont bother us.
