Oh, you mean the Sudanese people who the USA is taking in as refugees from the genocide there. And you mean the Bosnians who the USA saved from the killing by the Serbs, right? And we tried in Somalia under Clinton, but it didn't work and the war lords are today declaring their own fascist Islamic state!! Or do you mean the countries suppressed by Germany and Japan in World War III....were the people in the USA opposed to them, too?? Yeah, right. And Japan styled their post-WWII constitution on the American constitution; and we are best friends with Germany & Japan. Read some history, dude.

This question is very hard to answer because it is so general or vague. Who do you feel is suppressed and in need of liberation? Who does the liberating? Cannot, perhaps, a people only liberate itself?

There is a big difference in understading of matters and issues on the part of Americans. There is also a big variety of philosophical beliefs among the American people. Of course, your use of the word "opposed" may be strong; perhaps indifferent is a better word. Just because someone does not actively endorse something does not mean that they support its opposite.

1) Beacuse we know it feels a lot better when they're able to it themselves.
2) Only when the people are strong enough to liberate themselves, will the oppressive government be weak enough to be beaten. (We found in China that the governement was not weak enough.)

Because the Americans use such drastic force in their liberating and some people don't agree with it.
