well, i am against drinking too much...however i don't think drinking a little bit is a sin...although my personal choice is not to drink any, b/c of personal reasons. :)

All religions aside, I believe that the consumption of alcohol is a personal issue.
But I also believe that you should learn about your family and watch the way alcohol changes them before you take your drink.
I have attended family parties where i was sober and the others were not, after a few of these incidents I was convinced that I should not drink as some of these behaviors may be hereditary.

I have varied opinions on the consumption of alcohol being that I grew up in an alcoholic family...both my parents drank a lot..in moderation is good and an occasional binge is fine, but you can't let alcohol run your life...it ruins to many other lives

Jesus turned water into wine and drank wine.
Paul advised Timothy:
1TI 5:23 Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.
Paul advised the Ephesian church:
Eph 5:18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery.
So moderate consumption of alcohol is OK but overindulgence is not. What is too much ?Depends on circumstances eg being at home all evening or driving.
We are called on to exercise our free-will responsibly.

I agree with consumption in moderation for others; I don't drink because I come from a family with a history of alcoholism, I don't like the way alcohol makes me act, and I think avoiding drinking reflects the life I'm trying to lead.
But if someone else wants to enjoy a glass of wine or a beer I won't condemn them for it!

Moderate n Controlled Consumption of alcohol is definately good for health, But there is the inherent danger of addiction to it.
Try it only if you have a strong will power.

As a Christian, I think consumption of some alcohol is ok (Jesus did turn water into wine after all), but drunkenness is sinful. See Luke, Galatians, Romans, I Peter.

Islam prohibits the consumption of alcohol. Neither the Christian or Hebrew scriptures prohibit alcohol, and various biblical figures are portrayed consuming wine (including Jesus, Melchizedek and Abraham.)

moderation is the key in all things. I think that we in the USA have attached too much of a "forbidden fruit" label to it, this is why we have all the binge drinking issues. I think we should lower the drinking age back to 18 and encourage responsible consumption.

Alcohol is used in many religions as a sacrament or tool in rituals. Some even use it as a path. To me, alcohol abuse leads to perversion of morals, degradation of character, loss of concentration and eventual death of the soul. Alcohol was once called "spirits". So, without scientific evidence, just personal experience, those that imbibe frequently are really spiritual seekers looking in the wrong place.

In the Bible, it says 2 take care of ur body and 2 use it 4 the Lord. I don't think consuming alcohol is taking care of ur body.
