I have a raised mole (very small) it's been there for quite a few years. It was skin coloured outside with a black point in the middle.I had no pain but only occassional itching. last week it broke while sleeping, I just found a red spot on my gown. now its surrounding area is pinkish in colour with the same black spot & raised too. First two days it pained, now no pain.

The only way to know if it is cancerous or not is to go to your doctor and have them do a biopsy on it.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go to the doctor immediately. I had a spot come up on my leg that was pink. Looked like a bug bite. Then it grew and turned skin colored. Right before I had it removed it got a little black spot in the middle. It was about the size of a pencil eraser. My doctor thought it was nothing and sent if off for a biopsy. 2 days later it came back malignant melanoma, stage 3. It had only been there for 2 1/2 months. So please don't waste time and have it looked at.

Get it checked by a Dermatologist. You can also go to Web MD and ask questions there. Good Luck.

I suggest you go to a dermatologist as soon as you can. Melanoma....the worst kind of cancer of skin tissue.....sometimes turns colors. Don't ask these dumb people on Yahoo.......most have no clue.
