I just completed my Eagle Scout project last month, and I'm trying to wrap up the ending details here. How should I word the letter to all of those who volenteered their time?

Just some clarification, I have not yet earned the Eagle Scout Award, but I just completed the biggest requirement needed to recieve it. Right now I'm just a couple merit badges away from the honour.

Congratulations on a HUGE accomplishment. You have achieved an honor that few people attain at your age. SO: First: Volunteer is how it's spelled, (not to base on you, but I wanted to point it out in case you use that in the letter) Something like,
Dear Sid, I wanted you to know that thanks to your commitment to the community project that we volunteered on last month, I just achieved the honor of Eagle Scout. I really appreciate the time you spent on this project; not only did it help me achieve a goal that I've worked on for 12 years, but the good it did for the community will serve as an example for others. It was great that you could help me with _____________. Thank you very much.

The blank is to personalize it a bit, like if some people helped with different aspects of your project LIKE:Person A: It was great that you could help me with the beach cleanup; Person B: It was great that you could help me after the beach clean up to recycle things;Person C: It was great that you drove me to the recycling plant, etc. Make them know that YOU know what they did to contribute. Include a picture (yes sounds very lame, but we love that stuff) either of your award ceremony or if you had a picture donein your uniform.. Just remember - it's words, no matter what you say the sentiment and the fact you're writing a thank you note will go a long way to cement in these people's minds that they didn't waste their time getting involved with your effort! Again Congratulations!

Congratulations on completing your Eagle Scout project. It is great to see people using their time and energy on other things besides causing trouble and watching television.

As far as writing a letter is concerned, just write from the heart.

Start it like......

Dear Volunteers,
I would like to thank each and every one of you for dedicating your time to help me with my project.
Without your help I would not have been able to gain my Eagle Scout award.

Thank you all once again, your time and effort made a huge difference.

It doesn't have to be pages long and I imagine just a few words will make them all feel good about themselves.
One of the best things about volunteering for anything is that you do it because you want to, not to get recognition!

Good luck and well done again

You can show your appreciation for the efforts of the volunteers and emphasizing that your work could have not finished without their contribution. You can even send cards or e-cards to each individual and mention why you liked their work like talking about their valuable ideas.
