Ok, I've been in the States as a Perm Res for over 5 Years. After I submit all the necessary forms, ballpark how long are we talking here before Uncle Sam gives me the greenlight, assuming everything check s out?

I've heard different numbers ranging from 7 months to 2 years. You still have to take the test, go to the swearing in etc and it'll probably depend on how busy they are at the place where your paperwork is handled.

Filing the paperwork is only part of the story. You still have to pass a test, before you can become a citizen.You should have already taken classes towards this end.

Well usually you have to be a permanent legal resident of the U.S. for 5 years.

It depends on the state you are in and when you filed. It also depends on if you send in all the required documents.

You have to live in USA for 5yrs before becoming a citizen.
