After all we all know what's really right and wrong, we don't need any man-made storybook as a tool to persecute our neighbours.

I never singled out the Bible.

My non-religion would be called "fluffy bunnyism" and would just involve asking if your actions hurt anyone else. If so you should put right what you did wrong or avoid it in the first place. Just be a fluffy bunny to all around you.

yes it would, religion is not of the word of god it is a construction around god made by humans. the only problem with old constructions is they do not facilitate new dimensions; where am i supposed to plug my fridge in a Roman kitchen? The human condition has changed and it is time for a new kind of religion. MIne would be positive constructionist; to be constructive and to appreciate the constructiveness of others. from this ALL postive behaviours can be made. Care to join me? xx

Jesus said much the same thing to the religious leaders and teachers of His time. I don't see how anybody can argue with, "love your neighbour as yourself" or the tale of the good Samaritan (note that the Jews and Samaritans considered each other heretics).

All Christians should remember that we are called to be disciples of Christ. John put it this way,
4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoever keeps his word, the love of God is truly perfected in him. This is the way we may know that we are in union with him:
6 whoever claims to abide in him ought to live (just) as he lived.
7 Beloved, I am writing no new commandment to you but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard.
8 And yet I do write a new commandment to you, which holds true in him and among you, for the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.
9 Whoever says he is in the light, yet hates his brother, is still in the darkness.
10 Whoever loves his brother remains in the light, and there is nothing in him to cause a fall.
11 Whoever hates his brother is in darkness; he walks in darkness and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes (1 John 2).

Ever since man believed the lie, "you shall be as God," he's thought that he's right and anyone who disagrees with him is wrong. This has become so ingrained in human nature that man feels justified in hating, abusing and destroying whatever he does not agree with. Man made philosophies cannot change the fundamental nature of man, only the love of God as revealed in the Bible can do this - it's just a pity that many churches ignore this.

Yes, and I note you didn't specifically mention the Bible, so you could be talking about the Torah or the Koran or any other religious book or document. Try listening to Nik Kershaw's song Wouldn't It Be Good? and Depeche Mode's song People Are People and you will get exactly the same message as your own pretty much from both songs.

Well, your right about the first part of the question and I agreed with you until I read the part about the Holy Bible being a storybook. Sorry you feel that way.

I personally disagree with you on the religious issues, as all people are looking for the truth. I tolerate even the Atheists to call me stupid and ignorant, exactly what I want to know. If I am on the right path then all of them are wrong.

Indeed it would. It would be even nicer if we stopped using religion altogether and started living in the world like rational beings (at present that would exclude the North Korean government).
