I've tried freeregistryfix and registry cleaner, but they ask for you to upgrade after fixing only about 50 problems. (I still have 460+ to go)!!

You are right, the free registry fixers just do enough to make you angry. However, I use Registry First Aid and it is not expensive.

However, I have never seen one that "fixes" problems. All I've experienced are programs that point out things that do not look right in the registry, then leave it up to you to decide what to do. I recommend backing up your registry before making changes, just in case you delete something vital.
