Being a new mother myself, i have difficultly with that problem too, but, I've found that by walking for at least 30 minutes a day, and taking care of my daughter, the weight starts to come off. Congratulations and good luck with baby # 2.

I was just at the gym today and met with a fitness evaluator. I have 1 child, he's 5 now so I know what you are going through! Anyway, the theory is that if you want to burn off fat stores, you must burn more calories than you intake. My goal is to lose at least 10 lbs so I was told that 60% of my potential loss will be dictated by how well I stick to the food plan. 6 days a week of eating about 1700 calories, doing cardio workouts along with resistance training (some weights). 1 day a week I get to break from the food plan so that I can actually not get depressed about eating. The plan is to map out how many calories I can burn in a day. I use spin workouts (stationery bike) to burn about 1000 calories. I go on walks with my son or hikes, that counts too! Another tip is that when you lift weights you burn more calories with leg workouts (logical: its a bigger muscle group). Also try eating half a piece of toast or a bowl of oatmeal just before a cardio workout. The premise is that your body will burn calories during the workout and efficiently burn fat after the workout. Take a daily women's multivitamin, drink lots of water (especially if you are thinking about binging) - and phone a friend when you get weak! :o)

Nicole, start walking about 20 minutes a day. Put the kid in a stroller if need be and walk. Do this 3 times a week to start. Depending on your personality, there are numerous systems to help with your issues. Forget the amount of weight you feel you must lose and never step on the scale. What you weigh is irrelavent to how healthy your body is. The best indicator is looking in the mirror and how your clothes fit. If you are breast feeding then the choice of supplements may be limited. Best to seek medical advice. But you do want to take multi-vitamin, increase protein intake, as well as fatty acids such as omega 3, 6, and 9. Check with your doctor, he/she should be able to tell you what you need. Nicholas Perricone's system is awesome, check it out. Hope this helps, Mike. Congrats on the baby, work on developing a health system by you for you that you will do forever. Forget the tv ads, and fads, they DONT work. Walking is the best and it aids in mental clarity. If you cant walk outside, walk on a tredmill or in the mall, just keep up a moderate pace and eat healthy.

You might to start walking a couple miles a day, day start running a couple miles a day, keep eating healthy and in you will find yourself fit again in a couple of months. It is not hard at all, just give it a try. Good luck!

A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:
The correct way to burn fat and stay healthy is to burn more calories than you consume
You need to make sure you are eating healthy foods while still excercising
If you have a big appetite drink plenty of water so that you will feel full but not consume calories
But you should always eat
If you start to skip meals you will only be more hungry at your next meal and probably eat way too much
Remember, the average persons stomach is as big as a slice of pizza scrunched up into a ball
So you shouldnt be putting more food into your stomach than what fits
Also, it takes aproximately 15-20 minutes for your brain to realize that you are full
so eat slower and you will realize sooner when you are not hungry anymore
