How do u add a running number in Excel. For instance 1000 to 2000 running in a single column of Excel instead of typing them out manually?

type Two to tree numebers. For example 1001,1002 and 1003
Select all of them. Take ur mouse pointer to bottom-rightmost point of the selection and drag them down by holding left mouse button upto where u want the numbers to appear. This will solve ur problem.

Good Exercise of mind but Answer is very simple.
Copy and Paste this Example To cell A2.

1001
=A2+1=A3+A2
=A3+1=B3+A4

Using Edit->Fill->series


For instance type the number 1000 in a cell
select Edit->Fill->series
select step value = 1
stop value = 2000
type= growth
series i = columns
Click ok
Thats it

enter 1 and 2 in 2 continus cell and then select those two and then drag till u want , it will automatically display the numbers

otherwise go to edit fill option and fill the numbers
