I need to buy an exercise mat for my home workout videos, but all I can find are yoga mats. Will yoga mats work as well?

The difference between yoga mats and exercise mats is one of thickness of the mat, and springiness. Most yoga mats would be suitable for workouts - an ashtanga yoga mat would work nicely, as you have to do a lot of jumping around in ashtanga.

There are all different size mats that you can buy. Different in length, width and thickness. I have workout mats that have 2 inch thick foam for Martial Art training, so it depends on how much area you need to cover and what you'll be doing on them.

They're exactly the same thing. Only the price tag seems to be different since one term is trendy and one is not, so go with the exercise mat.

There is a noticable difference between yoga and exercise mats.Its observable on the price tag and is merely a marketing strategy.Real yogins use a piece of cloth.You can also use whatever takey your fancy.
