Possible...but stupid and difficult endangering both the female and the puppies depending on how the genetics go

I wouldn't mate a female pug with a male Dane....having the pups would probably kill her....

although it would work fine the other way around.....

but, because these dogs are so different in height, I'm sure artificial insemination would be required.....

( or at least that little male pug would have to be a hell of a gymnast!!!!

It is possible, sense you said it was the dane who would be mother then yes it would work well. THe dog will look odd but it wold work. If the pug was the mom no way the pug would die.

A female pug would be killed trying to carry a puppy that size. Or, actually, sugery could be performed to save the pug's life, but the puppy would die being pulled from the womb that early. It's a matter of size.

It's not that they can't get pregnant, it's that the female pug could not give birth to a puppy that size.

ANY dog, despite the breed can get another breed pregnant! My Chihuahua ended up pregnant with my German Shepard's puppies....but we had to have them aborted and her spayed in the process, because there was NO way she could have carried full term. She looked ready to drop (her tummy touching the ground!!) after only 2 weeks gestation, and she still had about a month and a half to go! When they removed the puppies, they said they were already the size of half of your palm...she would have died, and I wanted HER around for a LONG TIME! She's now going to be 16 on October 31...and still sleeps on my bed, and follows me everywhere. THAT kind of love, you do NOT want to miss...

I have a st. bernahuah; half st. bernard, half chiahuah, 100% badass. His front legs are massive but his hind legs are teeny weeny. His left testicle is big as a baseball and his other one is the size of a skittle. So, yeah I'd say great dane/pug cross is possible, but it would be one ugly-*** dog.

yes but the pregancy would most likley kill the female pug so if any wants to cross two dog the female should all ways be the larger breed.
