1- Today Bush actually claimed his plan is not an amnesty even though it would give immediate legal residency in the U.S to the 12 million illegal aliens and the eventual granting of U.S. citizenship after paying a fine !!!
2 - Pres. Bush said the answer to slowing down illegal immigration is to allow any American company to hire any willing foreign worker. We assume he would require some kind of safeguard for American workers, but he didn't specify any !!!!???!!
3 - Pres. Bush is so out of touch with 86% of Americans on this issue that many Republicans AND even more Democrats are urging everything possible be done to embolden Members of the House to continue to oppose Bush and the Senate bill -- and to stand firm in pushing forward H.R. 4437 passed by the House last December. The House bill would strengthen enforcement in many ways and begin an attrition that would lead to most current illegal aliens going to their home countries over time.
What is President Bush doing !!!?

What a huge SLAP in the face to the tens of thousands of honest law abiding would-be "Legal Immigrants" waiting years to enter the America CORRECT way.
Not to mention the millions that suffered but came to our shores legally last century.
As an Italian-American Second Generation,
our people along with the Irish and Chinese to name just three nationalities built the infrastructure of America...there were no OPEN BORDERS for us just the law to conform to or not. Now criminality is rewarded?
What about those legal immigrants then and those waiting now to enter legally...why not give them the preference!

Crimanality is not the point where Bush is concerned. The big problem is unlimited screened immigration (i.e. globalism) versus limited immigration to protect our schools and other social services. He does not believe in the latter, and only looks at the benefit to business of getting cheap labor.
That approach ignores the cost of the universal education and other services we provide, and for which we subsidize the bulk of the cost, where poor people are concerned. That is even where poor people pay all taxes.
He is a globalist who has in 'private' gone so far with his globalism ideas that benefit big business, he feels committed to them. He is viewing the country's overwhelming opposition to increased immigration as a 'set back' to overcome in a later, more 'private' setting. Now his thrust is to get huge quotas in place at whatever cost but preferably only at the cost of one time expensive efforts dependant on staffing at the border. Once the staff is cut for other pet projects, that would leave nothing there. A security fence, on other hand, would cause 'trouble' for illegal immigration on a much more permenant basis.
That is why there has been no enforcement of 'garden variety' immigration laws under his administration.
Look at spp.gov. This is an official government website so you have to read between the lines a bit, but it will show you some of how far he has gotten down this road without the public being aware of it.

well said princess_29_71. I voted for him because he was the best choice of the two. His comment that there must be a compromise sent me over the edge! I will never compromise, and if this government doesn't wake up and realize that this is an invasion and the illegals are the pawns in Mexico's Aztlan agenda, its just a matter of time. Check out the statistics in California, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico. There has to be a secret deal with Mexico for many possible reasons, because no president in his right mind could be this irresponsible! The people are screaming deportation, close the borders, and no amnesty, yet he hears whispers!

Bush is so out of touch with the will of the American public that it is scary. He obviously cares nothing for the middle class here. He's always getting on tv trying to sell his SHAMNESTY agenda just like a used car salesmen trying to sell a lemon. He has no shame! The things that he attempts to use as reason is as ridiculous as the arguments that you hear from the illegals themselves. What I find so outrageous is that he calls the Minutemen vigilantes when they operate within the boundaries of the law and yet, he will take up for millions of border crossing CRIMINALS.
I think it is dangerous for us to have a so called leader like him. He is treasonous to his own country.
