I think that the "West" may have some conservative aspects to it, but it seems to me that we (those who live in Europe, America, Canada, and portions of South America) are not conservative in many ways as well. For example, both men and women in most Western countries dress much more provocatively than those who live in the Middle East and Asia (although Asia is catching up). Because of the great culture diversification in Africa, I can't comment on the clothing trends; I'm not well-versed enough to speak on it. The Western countries have a larger number of religious groups than the Eastern countries, so that is definitely not conservative. The professors of many universities in Western countries encourage their students to think freely in an "out of the box" way. That phrase makes me almost gag, by the way, because it's overused in American companies. "You have to think out of the box!!" Yeesh. I wouldn't say that is a conservative mindset at all.

fried chicken's always good. crowing roosters are a nesessary evil. they help make fried chicken possible. i'd rather have chicken for thanksgiving than turkey. i'd rather have goose or duck than turkey. pheasant would be better than turkey too.
