Depends. I have had female friends/best friends whom I was friends with because they lacked something that I was looking for in a mate. trust me, if you are female and you are JUST my friend, then I am not interested in you for anything else.
However, if she's a friend that I have been secretly in love with for a long time and she came out with it, then its party time, you know what I'm sayin' YEEEEEEAH!

Well, how do YOU feel? Do you like them more than the person you are currently dating? Are you interested in a relationship with them? Does it make a difference that they are your best friend? Does it make a difference that you are dating someone?
Only you can make that decision, based on how you feel about both of your friends.

I think he feels as if the boyfriend will tell you to stop seeing him. The boyfriend will see him as a threat because you are so close.
your friend feels that he has to make his feelings known before it is too late. He hopes that you know him well enough by now to realize that he's the right guy for you.
How did this make you feel? confused, elated, disgusted??? act on what your gut (not your head) says is right.

I would let them know that while I am flattered that they feel that way, but I am in a relationship. If it doesn't work out, keep them in mind, but do not break off what you already have. Sure, they may actually have feelings for you, but nine times out of ten they are just acting out of jealousy. If they really have feelings for you, they will wait until you are ready to be with them.
