Hair is mostly made up of protein - you might not be getting enough. Make sure you eat plenty of nuts, beans, legumes and pulses.

I don't know how being vegan could cause hair loss. You're not on birth control drugs, are you? If you think the diet is causing it, then add a little chicken or fish. Maybe you just need a little more protein. I'm about 95% vegan. I do like to have some protein rich foods now and then. But I've found many, many benefits to a primarily raw vegetable diet. Like keeping my weight down. I was 215 last year and am down to 172 (almost perfect for my 5'11" height and structure) this year. All this with intermittent light exercise. Don't listen to your parents, do the homework. Here's a good site to get started on great health:

Sounds like you need protein, but being vegan you can't eat meat, you need a good soy protein plan. I lsot 95 lbs in 8 months using a good soy protein plan called Shapeworks. Doesnt say if you are trying to lose weight or not, but this plan can be used just for your vegan lifestyle without losing weight. Here is a good website to look at: www.loseweightnow.com/tfward

Americans get too much protein. It could be from your body storing up toxins and now releasing them at too fast. Been vegetarian for 30 years but when I first started I got very sick and stopped avoiding animals.
Then someone told to change gradually and it worked. But I was the biggest meat eater I knew. It was the bulk (meat) of my diet. But you can also have deficencies so check out this site and see. Do you get enough vit. D?

Remember, meats and eggs are high in protein which cause hair and nails to grow. You need to make sure you take protein supplements if you don't get it in your diet. Also, it is not uncommon to shed hair in large quantites due to stress.

your body is giving you the message that your diet is not properly balanced. If you want to continue being a vegan you need to see a dietitian.

Humans were not meant to be vegetarians. It is quite likely that you are damaging your health.
Lose your liberal-guilt complex and eat something.
